Shadows of darkness
Have pulled me to you
I know not why
But I find myself terrified
I'm longing for a purpose

It hurts
Yet, I still need him

She asks

Is his reply
I'm hurting

Pain still laces my heart
It is invisible to the naked eye
But if you were to look closer
You can see something there
Something beautiful
She doesn't think of herself as beautiful
But rather pain, and darkness
She writes words upon paper
Her pens filled with discarded emotions
She feels worthless
As if lacking any purpose at all
She turns to a blade
But it helps nothing
He finds her in a bathroom
And asks her why
She has no reply
Only tears
Even tears hurt
As she cries in the night
Wrapped in his embrace, she tries
To cling to his scent, to him
He tells her he loves her
And she asks why
Her eyes are clouded with confusion
He kisses her gently
Then and only then
She knows what love is
He cares
And slowly begins to realize
Life is worth living
Don't ever let me go
She says
Wouldn't ever dream of it
He whispers to her
Stroking her hair softly
He says this to her
I love you
Don't ever forget that
Not ever
Your hurt is no more
I'm here
Confide in me
I'll be here
Run to me
And cling tight
Cling tightly to me
For this love
