4th of July, every year the town holds a day-long festival full of food vendors, activities for both young and old, all sorts of contests and so on.
Biscuit dragged Jayce along, checking out traveling boutiques and trying on different hats.
Jinks shadowed Eren's footsteps, following him around to separate activities and vendors, his mind growing louder as the day went on. He didn't want to hurt anyone though, not in front of Eren at least. But he could feel control slowly draining as the intensity grew. Lavinia stalked the two, a gut feeling she had to be around to stop the psycho boy's actions at some point, not exactly sure when though.
Stalking the two for hours proved to be excruciatingly boring come sundown, but the time felt near. Any moment now he would snap and Lav would have to stop it. Civilians started claiming their spots around the venues and in the nearby field to watch the firework show which wouldn't start for another 40 minutes but people still craved the best seats.
A tap on her shoulder snapped Lav out of her intense focus. She turned to see a nervous boy holding a little girl's hand, "do you know where the nearest porta potty is? She needs to go and I can't seem to find one..."
Lav pointed towards the field "there's one bordering the field and a cluster of food tables that way" the boy gave her a thankful smile and took the girl away.
Turning around, Jinks was gone. Eren remained though. Lav let out a distressed sigh and maneuvered around people to get to him. "You! Have you seen a boy with white hair and red eyes and a mark on his palm? I uh- my friend saw him drop something and is holding it where he dropped it I need to find him to return it to him."
Eren gave her a puzzled look "I could take it for him... he should be back in a few minutes, he went to grab us some food for the show."
Panic ensued "yeah alright but where did he go? Like what vendor?"
"I'm not sure and I don't think it's a stranger's business."Jinks had made his way to the back end of the field and into one of the firework tents, rustling around in the goods until he pulled out a classic rocket. This could destroy a pretty face. Make it destroy a pretty face. A model? Just find someone pretty and destroy their beauty. Jinks checked for the lighter in his pants and headed out with the rocket after feeling it, the voices becoming so intense he was muttering their demands aloud.
Biscuit walked ahead of Jayce, both of them hunting for a good spot to watch the fireworks from the vendors, all tables were taken though sadly so they'd have to sit in the grass but at least they'd be sat right next to food and drink... just needed to find the perfect spot.
Jayce suggested they go back closer to the exit so they could get out before the rush and it would be emptier. So they gradually made their way in that direction, Biscuit got distracted by a deep fried sweets vendor and stopped to buy some goods as Jayce went on ahead.
Jinks shuffled around, hunting for a pretty face not attached at the arm by anyone else. He spotted Biscuit and froze, scanning the area and prepping his weapon. He did a quick stretch and started speed walking towards the clueless boy waiting for his sweets. "Blow off that pretty face" he mumbled to himself repeatedly.
Biscuit looked at him and cocked his head, tensing up as he grew closer. "Can I help-" Jinks elbowed the boy's collarbone, knocking him over immediately and stomped his foot on his chest, aiming the rocket at his face.
Biscuit started hyperventilating and pushing at Jinks' foot, trying to get him off.
The moment he went to scream for help there was a deafening BANG as his vision went white and pure burning pain consumed the left half of his face.
Jinks jerked to the side at the heavy contact and missed his center target, directly hitting Biscuit's left eye before being pinned down by Lavinia. Blood curdling screams ensued as the victimized boy lashed around on the ground, covering his newly scarred face.
Jinks managed to flip himself on top of Lav, cackling once he saw the damage he caused before taking off towards the exit.
Sirens blared as the smoke dissipated. Lav sat next to Biscuit trying to calm him down and assess the damage. Soon enough, medics took him off to the hospital.
Jayce ran over, having missed the whole chain of events that had just taken place. "I saw a firework go off on the ground and heard screaming, is everything okay!?!" Lav frowned at him "Biscuit took a direct hit, he's been hospitalized and I assume they'll be calling to notify you soon." Just then, Jayce's phone started ringing, the hospital was calling him to tell him the current status.Biscuit wouldn't allow any visitors for the next week. He refused to let anyone see how grotesque his face had become. He decided to allow one visitor, someone he had complete faith wouldn't abandon him no matter how ugly his new scar may make him, no matter how many glass eyes he's been given in place of the one that had been blown out of his head. Jordan walked in holding a bouquet of flowers and a "get well soon" balloon and froze in place for a moment once they made eye contact. Jordan set down his gifts and tightly hugged Biscuit.
