Y/N's pov
Today was my first day of school and I was super excited because my mom had me homeschooled for the past seven and a half years. Let's just say it took a lot of convincing to let me go to public school; she didn't want me to get hurt because she is pretty famous after the lionesses won the 2022 euros.
"Do you have everything?" Asked my mom Leah.
"Yes," I replied
"Ok, have fun today. I will pick you up after school."
"Ok, love you," I said before walking into my new school.
Everything was set up with the principal beforehand so I already knew what classes I was in and where to go. Which made my life so much easier.
I walked into my first class which happened to be English; my least favourite class. When I did it with my old touter it was always really boring and I never paid attention to it.
I walked into the class and my teacher saw me and waved me over to her desk.
"Hello, my name is miss Day you must be Y/N Williamson." Said, miss Day kindly.
"Yep that's me," I said
"Ok I am just going to grab the class's attention and I will introduce you," she said
Miss Day whistled and everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to face her.
"Good morning class, today we have a new student joining us, her name is Y/N Williamson. I want everyone to be nice to her as this is her first day of public school," she said.
Time skip to the end of the day.
As I was walking to my locker ( do British schools have lockers? For this story, they do because I am Canadian.) when I saw a poster for football tryouts for tomorrow after school. I pulled my phone out and took a photo of it so I would remember. I walked to my locker and grabbed my stuff then walked to my mom's car.
"Hi, mom," I said joyfully.
"Hello, sweetheart, how was the first day of 8 grade in a real school?" she asked.
"It was good everyone is nice but I haven't made any friends yet."
"Oh, and there are football tryouts tomorrow after school. Can I go?" I asked.
"Sure just text me the time you need to be picked up after school."
"Ok thank you."
Time skip to the next morning.
"Wake up it's time for school," Leah said sweetly
"Ok," I said tiredly.
After I got dressed I walked downstairs to ask my mom where my football boots and kits were for tryouts.
"Mom, do you know where my football boots and kit are?" I asked.
"I think your boots are at the back door and your kit is in the laundry room hanging up."
"Thanks," I said.
Time skip to football try out
When I got to the pitch there was no one there except for the coach so I just did some basic warm-ups to get my blood flowing. Then after a while, three girls who looked like they were already on the team started to walk over to me.
My mom told me to always be nice to people and talk to people during tryouts because it shows the coach that you are a team player and you get along well with the rest of the team. So I walked over to them to introduce myself.
"Hi, I am Y/N. I am trying out for the team." I said to the three girls in front of me.
"Hi I'm Lily." said the one on the left.
"I'm Jessica." said the girl on the right.
"And I am Sofia." said the girl in the middle.
"Do you guys want to pass a ball around until the other kids get here?" I asked.
"Sure why not." they all said
We pass the ball around for a while until the rest of the kids arrived then the couch called us all over.
"Hi everyone my name is Miss Jones. I am the girl a football coach for our school," said Miss Jones.
"I want all of you to go around the group and say your name, position, and if you play for a team or club outside of school," said Miss Jones.
People started to go around saying their names and positions and if they play led for clubs or teams outside of school. Then it got to my turn.
"Hi, my name is Y/N. I play any midfield position and I am on Arsenal's u16 team." I said.
When we all finished the introductions Miss Jones explained the drills we got into groups of two and started some passing drills. I partnered up with Sofia for the passing drills and lily and Jessica partnered up.
"You never told me you played for Arsenal's u16 team," Sofia said.
"I never came up." "What did you want me to say?" "Hi, I'm Y/N, by the way, I play for arsenal's u16 team." "That just sounds so snobbish," I said
"Ok I see what you mean," she said.
When we finished the passing drills we started some shooting drills which was fun and then miss Jones told us to go grab our trainers.
"Okay everyone we are going to finish the day with the beep test," said Miss Jones.
Everyone groaned but got on the line. And then we started. After a couple of minutes, people started to drop out. The keepers dropped out first then some kids who weren't on teams started to drop out. After a couple more minutes I noticed it was just me and this one other girl who I remembered was named Alice. I was starting to get tired but I looked over at Alice and she looked just about ready to quit. A couple of seconds later as I thought Alice dropped out. Sofia, Jessica and Lily were all cheering me on then I heard Miss Jones whistle to stop.
" Great job Y/N but you can stop now tryouts are over," she said.
Once she said that I stop and flopped down on the grass trying to catch my breath.
"That was so good," Jessica said to me handing me my water bottle.
"Thanks," I said.
Lily reached out her hands to help pull me up off the grass and I gladly took them.
"Let's go get changed, you look sweaty," Jessica said.
As we were walking to the changing room I got a text from my mom.
Leah: I am going to be there in like two minutes. I will wait for you on the pitch.
Y/N: ok I am just getting changed now. See you soon.
After I finished changing I walked out with Jessica, Lilly and Sofia.
"We should add you to our group chat," said Sofia.
"Ok, sure," I said.
As I was going to give Sofia my number Jessica suddenly squealed.
"Oh my freacking God, why is Leah Williamson at our school right now?" she screamed.
After everyone heard what Jessica said people started to flock to Leah asking her questions and asking her for photos. When she saw me she excused herself from all the kids and walked over to me and my friends.
"Y/N we have to go I have a game at seven we got to go," Leah said
"Ok give me one moment."
All my friends just looked at me with shocked faces.
"How do you know her," all my friends said.
"Oh um, she is my mum," I said shyly.
"You are just filled with secrets, aren't you," said Sofia.
"Y/N we really have to go," said Leah.
"Ok"
"Bye, see you tomorrow," I said before walking with Leah to the car.
