A SMALL YELP, was shouted from luna as she was turned and saw aemond holding her. she jumped in excitement into his arms to which rhaenyra gave a look of warning. she knew that children of opposite sex could not openly share friendship or love and that her daughter could be named a whore at the small age of nine. "aemond! oh how greatful and happy you are here!" she spoke with a smile on her face as she looked at her prince. her sweet aemond.

"happy name day, princess" he whispered in her ear as he looked at the sapphire along her neck. "you look pretty, like a sapphire!" he exclaimed as they let go. viserys and alicent were next to come, "happy name day my dearest moon flower! the realm is lucky to have you!" viserys said lovingly. to which rhaenyra felt jealousy, her sons would never be loved as much as her daughter. her small approach towards the trio slowly, "father, we are glad to have you here" to which her father smiled lightly at her before turning his attention back to his

granddaughter. "we have a gift for you; sweet girl." alicent spoke to her with a great smile towards her. the servants brought forward many great dresses to which the little princess was excited about seeing as her grandfather presented her a ring. ring of emerald green stone in it. "grandfather?" she questioned softly as rhaenyra turned angered. "father, you mustnt be serious-" to which she was cut off by viserys walking forward and speaking. "I have an announcement, today is my granddaughters name day and as I've spoken with her mother and her father. we announce the great engagement of the two houses velaryon and targaryen once again! prince aemond and princess luna will wed." rhaenyra's

blood ran cold. she had offered an engagement of lucerys and helaena; and now her daughter had a bigger claim to the throne. with all of drift mark fawning over her and westeros, including the king and queen themselves she was out numbered.  she looked at laenor as she went towards her sons instead of her daughter. kissing their heads and smiling fakely. "go congratulate your sister." she spoke in a hurried tone, as the boys went up to Luna who was in shock and hugged her. luna and aemond looked at eachother, both in deep shock and overwhelming happiness. "we wish you the best of luck, sister." jacerys said as he looked at his older sister. she pulled away and ran into her fathers arms.

"oh thank you! Thank you!" she mumbled, as he chuckled and held her close. "I told you it would work out." laenor said as he kissed her cheek. "let us having dancing!" viserys announced as he sat down at the middle of the table, and watched with alicent by his side. normally, luna would be seated closest to him growing up. the king would hold luna on his lap and feed her growing up, or hold her whilst on the throne and read to her. "my betrothed" — "my betrothed" luna and aemond said to eachother, giggling at themselves as they danced in the traditional Valyrian way. "I have.. missed you" aemond hesitated in saying as luna smirked at him

"Nyke've missed ao hae sȳrī, uncle." (I've missed you too, uncle.) luna spoke back, watching a grin bloom on aemond's face. the adults watching closely to their interaction. "this is a good match" viserys says, as rhaenys agrees. corlys in his own ambition, did not enjoy the thought of this. they previously had talked about engaging her to vaemond velaryon.  but between the age and her closeness to the king, he knew it would be a stretch. "aemond cares deeply for the princess, childhood friends." alicent said in a calm tone, looking at her son and her future daughter in law. she would protect her from anyone.... even from  — herself.   SOON,

the party had came to an end, as did the princess's ward ship as she had now been engaged. her mother would take her home to kings landing. to be raised and taught by her, as she's now to bled and a woman. "we will meet again, dear moon princess." rhaenys teared, as she held her granddaughter. though it was not the end, she couldn't help but feel, like something wasn't right. corlys hugged her tightly before whispering in her ear. "you are blood of the ocean and the moon, but there is blood of the dragon too. don't be afraid to show it." he encouraged her. as they separated. "goodbye."

unfortunately, this would not be the last time, the princess luna velaryon, would say goodbye.
