Keira's pov: Me and Lucy have been dating for around 5 months we have told are friends and teammates. I met her parents a couple of months ago there where so nice and welcoming . I love Lucy so much and would do anything for her but recently she keeps asking me if she can meet my parents. The thing is I haven't come out to them yet and I'm scared about what they will say. The are a pretty traditional people when I comes to certain things but lucy kept asking asking so agreed. So we are now in the car on the way to my parents and I'm terrified.
"you ok baby" Lucy says pulling me away from my thoughts. "Yea I'm babe" I say giving a not so convincing smile.
"Keira I've known you for years I can tell when your lying" she says moving her eyes from the road to me for a second.
" I...um I haven't told my parents about us lucy I haven't even came out to them that why I didn't what you to meet them" I say looking down at the floor not wanting to make eye contact.
"Oh baby why didn't you say I wouldn't of asked to come until you where ready" she says Softly.
" it's ok I need to do it at some point I would rather do it with you there" I say to her a small smile comes into my face.
"ok only if your sure" she says giving a bright smile I just nod back and look out the window. We sit in comfortable silence she puts her hand on my thigh and rubs it soothingly.
We are now at my parents in I'm quite frankly terrified. I let out sigh and walk towards the door I grab onto lucy hand and she gives it a reassuring squeeze as I knock on the door.
Lucy let's go of my hand as the door open "hi sweetie how are you" my mum say with a wide smile.
"hi mum I've been good you" I say with a smile. "oh I've been good who's this Keira" my mum say realising lucy was stood behind us. She lets us in still looking at me for an answer.
" um mum this is lucy my um teammate is it ok if she has dinner with us" I say looking at lucy she has a sad smile on her face.
"oh yes of corse she can how are you lucy" my mum says as we walk into the living room and sit down.
"I'm good thank you Mrs Walsh" she says with a smile. "good can I get two a drink" my mum say getting up. I look at lucy and she nods " I'll have a glass of white wine and Lucy will have a beer" I say my mum nods and walk away
"I'm sorry lucy I know I should of told her" I say looking down. "Heh it's ok you do in you own time ok" she say softly putting her hand under my chin so I look into her eyes.
"hey sweetie you ok" my dad says entering the room with are drinks. I quickly pull away from lucy "hey dad you ok" I say looking at him.
"Yea works been busy but other than that I've been good" he says with a wide smile.
"so um when dinner gonna be ready dad" I say trying to steady my nerves. " shouldn't be to long I think your mum is dishing up" he say sitting down".
"so Lucy how has training been" dad say trying to get rid of the obvious tension. " good thank you mr Walsh you daughter is quite the baller I must admit" she says looking at me with a loving smile I look back at her with the same face until my my mum walk in.
"dinners ready so go sit in the dining room Peter come help me dish up" he nods and walk out.
"Lucy I'm scared I went to tell them and I will I'm just scared of what they will say" I say getting up from the sofa. She gets up as well and kisses me quickly " it's gonna be ok I'll be there and I'll support you no matter what ok" she says reassuringly. " thanks you lucy I love you" I say grabbing here hand. "I love you to kei" she say as we both walk to the dining room and sit down.
My mum and dad enter with four plates of spaghetti and meatballs and place them in front of us. We all start eating in a comfortable silence till my mum breaks it "so when's your next game".
"next week it against west-ham" Lucy and I say at the same time we all laughter for a second. I let out a small sigh knowing that I have to tell my parents I live lucy to much to keep her secret. "mum dad I need to talk to you about something important" I say lucy looks up from her food and stares at me with a small smile on her face.
"ok sweetie you can tell us anything" I nod " I want you to know that love you both so much" I say looking down at my food.
"hey what's wrong" my sad says placing a hand on my shoulder. " mum dad I'm gay and I have been dating lucy for the last 5 Months and I love her" I say blurting everything out as quick as I can.
Lucy looks shocked but proud and gives me a reassuring smile. "sweetie we don't care if your gay we love you no matter what" my dad says. "yea sweetheart we don't care and we could always sort of tell and you and Lucy are a very cute couple" my mum says with a wide smile on her face.
"really" I look at both of them wiping the single tear that feel.
" of corse I don't know why you would think we would be unsupportive we don't care as long as your happy".
"thank you" they both smile at me I look at lucy she has so much love in her eyes and so do I. I love her so much.
The rest of the night we spent looking through old baby pictures I was mostly embarrassed but hearing Lucy's laugh made it a little bit better. We soon went home desiring I would stay the night with her that night. We both got into bed she wraps a sting arm round me and I snuggle into her. "I love you Keira fae Walsh". She says tightening her grip on me. " I love you two Lucia tough bronze. I say closing my eyes and drifting into the land of sleep.
