Green's Story: The Story of a Diamond

Prologue

Around the time of the gem war that shook Homeworld over one thousand years ago, years before the famous Steven Universe. The diamonds reigned over all kinds of gems. White, Yellow, Blue, Pink, and another who was long forgotten. Her name was Red Diamond. Pink and red were unique compared to the other diamonds. Pink's personality was bubbly and fun, while Red had a temper she didn't know how to control. Especially when she and Yellow had heated fights. Pink was the only gem, next to the pearls of the other diamonds, that knew how to calm her down. They would pose together with Yellow's pearl or draw each other with Blue's. These younger diamonds stuck together like glue. And then... the Gem War against Rose Quartz and the Rebels began.

The diamonds fought gems, corrupting them along the way, or a worse fate... shattered. Through the final fight, Red looked everywhere for Pin on the battlefield, but she couldn't find her until it was too late. Red's heart sank as she realized Pink had been shattered, her gemstone shattered into countless pieces. The loss of her closest companion was devastating, leaving Red filled with grief and anger towards Rose Quartz and the Rebels.

"You have to let me help!" Red begged the three older gems with angry tears in her eyes. "Please!-"

"That's out of the question, Red!" Blue spoke firmly but calmly, not wanting to lose anyone else to the fight. "White has given her orders for you to stay out of this! You know how bad your temper can get!"

"You need time to heal and process your emotions," Yellow added, her voice laced with concern. "We understand your pain, but rushing into battle without a clear mind will only put you and others in danger." Red's fists clenched as she fought against her impulsive nature, realizing that her anger could cloud her judgment. Deep down, she knew they were right, but the desire for revenge still burned within her.

"But Blue!-"

"Red, we're done talking about this! White has given her orders!"

"This isn't fair!"

"Oh, stop acting like a child! ... There's nothing else you can do. Pink is gone, Red. As much as I wish she weren't, she is." Blue lifted the young diamond's chin gently, looking straight into her red eyes. "Just trust us." Blue's words hit Red like a wave of reality, causing her anger to momentarily subside. She took a deep breath, trying to quell the burning desire for revenge that still lingered within her. As much as she hated to admit it, she knew that her fellow diamonds were right—acting impulsively would only cloud her judgment and potentially lead to disastrous consequences. With a heavy heart, Red reluctantly nodded, finally surrendering to the wisdom of her companions.

"She wouldn't have been shattered if you just let me help!" Red argued with angry tears in her eyes. Blue sighed quietly, not knowing what else to say to Red.

Finally, the war was over after one thousand years. The war was over. The diamonds had won. Everyone who survived on Homeworld was satisfied. All but red. She was cheesed off at the fact that she lost her best friend. She tried holding back her anger and sadness until, eventually, she cracked. With angry tears back in her eyes, her powers began to glow, and her temper finally grew out of control. Red Diamond fell to her knees, cracking or shattering anyone who was close by. As the chaos ensued, Red's powers unleashed a destructive force that left a trail of devastation in her wake. The once peaceful atmosphere on Homeworld was now filled with fear and uncertainty. Desperate to find solace, Red sought guidance from those who had experienced similar loss and turmoil.

Yellow and Blue ran to Red's room with panicked looks on their faces. The destruction they passed along the way proved Red's temper had gotten out of control. The two leaders hesitated as they thought about their next step. They knew confronting Red in her current state would only worsen the situation. Instead, they decided to consult with White Diamond, the most experienced and wise gem on Homeworld, hoping she could provide valuable insight and guidance on how to approach Red and help her regain control over her powers.
