01. HAL(⁠๑⁠˙⁠❥⁠˙⁠๑⁠)

She looked towards his disappearing figure... Her eyes getting soggy. Avneet pulled out that red scarf out of her bag and wore it around her neck in hopes of... Him realising her.

Three months ago...

It was Avneet's 16th birthday. A time she had been waiting for ages. Only two minutes were left before midnight and Avneet's eye lashes were flapping... She could fly any moment into her world of dreams. Slowly her vision got darker like the moonless night.

Suddenly it started raining so bad... A thunderstorm was near... The sound of water hitting the roof... Sound of thunder and lightning got louder and louder. As soon as the clock hit 12... The rain got heavier... And that's when a louder thunder struck... the moon 🌙 charms in her bedroom and she lost her conscious.

A black crescent moon symbol appeared in her wrist 🌙 and Avneet's body disappeared. Another Avneet but with a different hairstyle and a star ✨ sign slept on the same spot. This Avneet looked like she had just finished watching the first season of "Wednesday" with her dark circles and a pair of lips that looked like they never smiled.

Soon, the sun rised... So did Avneet.

Excitedly, she jumped out of her bed and hurried towards the mirror. She stood there with a wide grin. "Happiest Birthday to me", she said giggling.

Her face seemed different... She thought she looked kinda chubby and her body looked kinda blurred in the mirror. She went closer to the mirror then saw her reflection clearly.

Confused, Avneet picked up her speks from the dressing table and wore it. "Why does the frame seem bigger but i look kinda cute", she said nuzzling her chin out.

That's when her mum walked in... "What the heck are you up to??", Screamed her mum in horror as she didn't expect Avneet to be standing infront of the mirror and modelling at 6am in the morning

"Oh come on mumma... It's my birthday", replied Avneet. "Happy birthday bacha... Now come on go and get ready, today is your special day plus you gonna meet my damad", said mum confusing Avneet.

"Huh?!?", Said the already confused Avneet. "Now, don't tell me that you forgot the 16th birthday boon", said mum sighing towards the still confused Avneet.

"Show me your hand!", Said mum grabbing Avneet's arm. Avneet showed mum her palm. "What do I do with your palm, you think i gotta read that?", Joked mum. "Maybe...", Replied Avneet. Mum looked at Avneet as if thinking in her mind of ways to break a nose.

"As soon as a person turns 16... He or she will have a symbol struck on their hand... Usually on their wrist. Just like your father and I have a 🦋 butterfly on our wrist. You and your soulmate's symbol will never be the same and at the same place as anyone else and this makes it easier for us to find them. You also got a symbol probably at midnight of a 🌙moon... Remember this is your symbol and anyone who has it the same is your soulmate... Never let them go!!", Said mum

A shocked Avneet still looked at her mum and then had a vision.

A room appeared beside Avneet's room and the other Avneet with the ✨star sign had a cup of coffee early in the morning when she dropped it and both the Avneets held their head in pain... Mum had already left the room. Suddenly a voice echoed...

"Heavy thunderstorm was the reason for the Avneet mix up... There was only one case... It will take time for the damaged file to recover till then both the girls will have to survive as each other... They'll be able to talk if they see a ✨🌙 signs together anywhere even as drawings"
