"Tommy?"
Blonde hair stuck up and out of the couch.
Blue eyes meeting several others, the band had played a few more songs and Tommy seemed happy to relax around them.
"Hm?"Joe placed down his guitar before slumping down next to the blonde. Wilbur watched as the two of them pushed at each other for a moment, arguing about foot space. It was silent before Joe pushed back at the blonde in a playful way,
"play us a song."
Wilbur only just realised what they were actually arguing aboutThe teen scoffed, not actually considering it. Looking around the brunette stared at the various reactions that came from his band mates, Ash seemed pleased by the idea while Mark couldn't care less. Spotting the hesitation in Tommys eyes, he smiled at the pianist.
"What would I even play?"
At that moment Wilbur decided not to think, it wasted valuable time anyways.
Sliding his hands under Tommys arms he lifted the teen straight out of his seat and into the air. Shouts of protest could be heard yet the pursuit would not be stopped.Placing him down onto the stool he ruffled the blonde locks of hair, "Play anything you want."
With a scowl he stared at the keys in front of him. They were different from the ones at Karl's bar, smaller slightly older in a way. Fingertips danced against porcelain, a quick but soft start to an amazing song.
Tommy found it comedic, maybe a reflection of his work. "It's nine o'clock on a Saturday." Wilbur laughs slightly.
Not at Tommy, he was one of the best musicians he had ever heard. The song choice was just that of a joke, Piano man. After all that was what Tommy happened to be, a piano man.
Well he really dabbled in every sort of instrument, Tommy wasn't sure why the piano stuck to him, it was a mouldable instrument he supposed. Both happy and sad, if it wasn't in a song there would be a keyboard there in its place."Sing us a song, you're the piano man."
The chords were thicker at the core of the song. Stronger and more heart felt but it was still something to sing along to. The upbeat tune of the song is something that would be played in the tavern, something that sounded like beer and a long night.
"Sing us the song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright"The song died out, leaving joy in its wake. Wilbur cheered and Ash raised his glass. Mark clapped along side the brunettes screams. The vocalist of the band being way too loud.
With the day coming to a fast close Tommy realised that his shift would start in an hour and Wilbur offered to drop him off at the bar.
Both of them stood up and gathered their belongings, the carpet on the floor shifted against the hardwood when one of them would walk across it in a rush.Joe stood up and gave Tommy a harsh handshake, "bye Tommy, nice meeting you today."
Ginger hair moving with his smile as his beard and moustache shifted along with his cheeks.
Ash was the next one to tell Tommy his goodbyes, the blonde was pulled against the side of the man in a hug that could only be replicated by Ash himself.
Mark barrelled into Tommy as soon as he had been let go, instantly getting trapped in a bear hug.He and Wilbur left not too long after, the pair were exposed to the harsh chill of the weather. Wind pushing against them both. According to the news England was due for its annual storm, March was reported to be a tough month of snow and rain.
"How come you're going straight to the bar and not home?"
Wilbur was incredibly nosey in Tommys professional opinion. The man loved to know everything about everyone, there wasn't one thing he didn't know about his friends. That was until he befriended Tommy. With red noses their walk continued,
"I live at the bar, why are you asking?"
Wilbur's eyebrows narrowed at that, he wasn't sure what to make of this new information. The brunette looked like he had just been given a maths problem to solve.
"Just asking I suppose."It was silent for a moment or two, the only sound being that of cars and people. Beside him Tommy could feel the questions that swirled in Wilbur's head.
"Why do you live at the bar?" A short laugh was carried throughout the gusts of wind. Tommy had the right mind to just ignore Wilbur but he didn't really see the harm in tell his new friend."First of all its a tavern. A bar is something inside of a catering establishment " Wilbur scowled at the blonde much like Tommy had earlier when he was sat in front of the piano.
"I was kicked out of my apartment by my dickhead of a roommate. Karl let me stay at the tavern."Again Wilbur had nothing to say, he let the information process before asking his next stupid question. Brown hair was pushed back by the weather, flinging the brown curls in every direction revealing a shocking hairline.
"What about your parents.?"This time Tommy was silent. He wasn't too sure how to answer, Wilbur's question was soft spoken as if he already knew the answer.
"Didn't support my career. Kicked me out when I refused to go to college."
Wilbur nodded his head. Resting a hand on Tommys shoulder."Enough about me, what about you dickhead?"
Brown eyes wrinkled at the edges as Wilbur grinned at the blonde, it was a sudden burst of energy that he was known for.
Pulling his new friend closer they walked together towards Kinoko.Trainers smacked against the cobble roads and slightly dressier shoes clicked against the floor in a similar pattern.
With the wind being yet to let up their conversation was screamed and people looked at them disapprovingly, in turn they would roll their eyes and talk louder.Kinoko was coming into view as one of Wilbur's many tales started, reaching the steps Tommy eyed the greenery of the tavern and the entirety of the building as if it would pick up and move itself so that the conversation could continue.
"Oh we're here."
Wilbur seemed sad as if they both shared the same thoughts, he watched as the blonde pushed against the wooden door. He still had a few minutes before his shit."Well then I guess I'll have to pour you a pint so that you can continue your story."
Both of them smiled as they entered the tavern.
Tommy slipping behind the bar and Wilbur making his way to a bar side stool.
Their conversation continuing for the rest of the night.
