Notes: Bae Joohyun is Irene's real name is she's referred to as Joohyun throughout the story.

Joohyun had been caught staring.

Though it wasn't the first time (and it certainly won't be the last), it still made a wave of heat pass over her body. Not from embarrassment. Heavens no. That wasn't Joohyun's style. She made sure to hold Seulgi's gaze whenever they locked eyes in the wall length mirrors of the dance studio. What Joohyun liked so much about the auburn-haired girl was her stubbornness when it came to teasing. Joohyun had noticed a large burst of confidence from her recently, the cool girl-crush stage version of Seulgi making its way into their personal lives as well. A firm hand resting at the small of her back as they approached a stage, a lingering touch along her collarbone disguised as a 'outfit check'. Arms wrapping around her waist and resting dangerously low on her abdomen backstage before a performance as they waited in the wings. She always tried her best to stare right back; even raising a questioning eyebrow once it got to the nth time, she had caught Joohyun leering.

Seulgi looked forward to their practice sessions for this very reason. She even found herself looking for the raven-haired girls lingering looks whenever she completed an especially sensual move or a perfectly smooth body roll. If it were anyone else, she would have said something by now, but there was something so confident and powerful behind the older girl's eyes that made her weak.

Joohyun knew the other members had to have noticed by now but they never really brought it up. She had heard enough about 'Seungwan unnie's kisses' from a very drunk Sooyoung one night after a variety show to know that they're definitely ok with it. Should she ever build up the courage to make a move on the girl that is. She had the confidence, sure, but she wanted to be certain that Seulgi felt the same way before she made a fool of herself.

The heat that started as a light dusting on her cheeks had spread to her neck, over her chest and eventually settled somewhere she would have to explore when she had a moment to herself. The young dancer always had this effect on her. Especially when she was swaying her hips to the slow beat of the music playing. Her movements were always so effortless, so flawless and perfectly formed. She was never one to 'over-dance'; she didn't need to when she already had every head turned towards her the moment she walked onto the stage. There was something so mesmerizing about the way she moved, there was no wonder why Joohyun couldn't tear her eyes away even if she tried.

So, she didn't.

She indulged herself during their sessions now; letting her mind wander wherever it wanted to as she fixated on the lean, toned muscles that gently flexed and stretched with every intricate movement the dancer made. Her hair was slightly frizzed, small baby hairs sticking to her forehead as she restarted the choreography for the fifth time today. A light sheen of sweat started to cover her body as she exerted herself through her training and Joohyun found herself daydreaming about making her sweat in a completely different situation.

This was going to be a long, torturous day.

After what felt like fifty more run-throughs, Joohyun breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Seulgi unplug her phone from the sound-system of the studio. The other members made a chorus of noises of approval beside her. Like dogs trying to cool down in the summer they're all splayed out on the cold wooden floors, trying to catch their breaths. Joohyun looked up from her spot on the ground when she heard Seulgi let out a soft laugh beside her, unceremoniously flopping down onto the floor like her fellow members and comically panting. This earned her a hearty laugh from the group and it made Joohyun's heart flutter. How can someone go from being the sexiest person alive to the biggest goofball in the span of a few minutes? Incredible. She rolled onto her side and playfully pushed the young dancer, making her shout. Both laughing at the situation, their eyes met. A spark flickering between them so powerful it made Jooyhun rest her hand where it had just pushed and slightly lean closer. The laughter quickly died down as the other members watched the two girls having a staring contest in the middle of the room. Not much to Joohyun's surprise, Seulgi is quick to challenge her, leaning dangerously closer; even letting her eyes trail down to Joohyun's lips for a moment before meeting her gaze again.
