Deep Creek Lake. I (abby_v07 )was on my family's annual Memorial Day trip. My whole family was so psyched to get there. I asked her dad to turn on the radio. My sister Danielle (@daylie34 ) reached over, blocking my father's view.
My mom cried as they swerved to the edge of the road. We were ok, but our car wasn't. A part of the guardrail had been lodged in the brakes, disabling them. Although my dad didn't know that, nor did I at the time. And we would find out soon.
About fifteen minutes later, our car approached the stop light. As the cars crossing the opposite direction were supposed to be crossing, we weren't. We all screamed as the white minivan ahead hit us.
