Chapter Two - Lillie Fenton

The tutor stared at me for awhile. "You know, if you take a picture it'll last a whole lot longer than what you're seeing now." I smirked. He blushed about 50 shades of red. "S-sorry. I'm Daniel." He quickly recovered, and stuck his hand out. "I'm Lillie." I shook it.

"So...what classes are you struggling in, or figure that you will be?" Daniel asked me, sitting down at a desk. "Hm. All of them." I shrugged. Plopping down on a desk and tossing my combat boot clad feet on the desktop. Dan nodded. I mentally called him Dan, although it seemed he preferred Daniel.

"Uh. Okay... Well we can start the actual tutoring tomorrow, when you might actually have homework." Dan said scratching the back of his neck. He didn't seem very social, and it looked like any interaction with others made him uncomfortable.

Daniel nervously bit his lip and looked out the window, I just observed him, trying to get a better understanding of him. I'm pretty good at reading people, just saying. Suddenly, Dan took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He's kinda cute. I thought. I then reminded myself that he was just my tutor and was most definitely not cute.

"Let's play a game!" I said suddenly. Daniel snapped his head towards me. "Um. What kind of game?" "A game to get to know each other better." I explained. He slowly nodded.

I snapped my fingers. "Never have I ever!" I'm sure my malicious smile was somewhat resembelent of the Cheshire Cat. Dan swallowed, his noticeable Adam's apple bobbing up and down.

"Alright since we don't have drinks, we will use our hands, so hold up your hand." I urged. Looking slightly confused he raised his hand. "You have to put a finger down if you've done the thing I mention, but keep in mind that you don't want to ask me a question that you've done, because then you'll have to put a finger down and you want to win." What could I say I'm competitive. "Shall we begin?" I asked. He nodded.

"Never have I ever snuck out of the house." I said. I knew he hadn't, but I wanted him to surprise me, not be the stereotype he was pegged as. As guessed no finger went down.

"Never have I ever...um kissed a girl." Dan mumbled while blushing immensely. "You haven't?" I asked while curling my thumb in. He shook his head, I smirked and shrugged.

"Never have I ever cheated on a test." With a sigh I saw him quietly pull his thumb in. I raised my eyebrows. "It was kindergarten okay? None of those tests matter." Dan explained trying to justify his test cheating. "You don't cheat?" He asked soon after his explanation.

I chuckled, "How do you think I get bad grades?" Dan shrugged. "Never have I ever gone to a funeral." I widened my eyes, that's a little too much information I didn't want to be sharing. What if he asks who? "That's morbid." Is all I say instead and put my finger down. He shrugged and pushed his thick glasses up.

Alright, he wanted to play this way. "Never have I ever had a loved one die." Maybe I'm lying and this isn't how you play the game, but I wanted to see his reaction. It seemed he was at a loss for words. He glanced at the clock, I stared at him. He licked his lips. "Times up." Dan hurriedly mentioned, quickly grabbing his bag and dashing out the door.

I sighed and slowly stood up, right before Dan came rushing back, poking his head through the door, "Same time tomorrow, don't be late." He zoomed away again.

I wonder why he has the sudden change in attitude. Brushing it off, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the school, glad to finally be free.

I spotted him right away. Jack Daylee. His full name was Jackson, but I had a habit of cutting people's names short.

"Well if it isn't Lillie Marie Fenton." Jack greeted me in his typical manner, like he hadn't seen me in ten years. Jack was a tall guy with bright blonde hair, steely blue eyes, and lots of tattoos. You can't have a complete guy like that without a motor bike, so that's how Jack drove me around. "Hello, Jackson Andrew Daylee." I walked up to him and planted a kiss on his lips. He smirked wrapping his arms around my neck.

I pulled away and turned to get on his motorcycle. Swinging my leg over one side I pulled myself onto the bike. There isn't much I could say about it, as I don't know anything about motorcycles.

Soon after I mounted the bike, Jack joined me, as he sat down I wrapped my arms around his torso. I was never disappointed in how muscular it was.

"My place or yours?" Jack asked. "Yours." I quickly replied. Jack revved the engine and zipped away from the school at a speed that made my long hair whip frighteningly fast and hard around my face.

In a few minutes time, Jack's house came into view. He whipped into the driveway, slamming on the breaks and killing the engine while I got off of the bike.

"So, Lillie," Jack starts talking to me as he pulls off his helmet, running his fingers through his hair. "How was your day?" Jack finishes the sentence.

"Pretty good. I have a tutor for the school year. Do you know him? Daniel Goldsmith?" I reply. That would be quite the connection, Jack and Dan.

Jack seemed deep in thought when I looked back at him. "Yeah. I think I used to party with his sister, she was the same age as me. Catherine Goldsmith. Has he mentioned her?"

"No. He hasn't mentioned any siblings, but it's not like we've known each other forever." I roll my brown eyes. Jack shrugs and leads me inside.

Jack's house was small, but it was cute and quaint. We walked in the back door. I slipped off my shoes, knowing the house-wide rule.

The second I took off my shoes Jack turned me around and kissed me, rolling my eyes, I started my act.

Jack and I were what you would call friends with benefits, we make out, he gives me free weed. No, I'm not a prostitute I'm not giving him sex. The only reason Jack gives me weed is because I wanted to break it off awhile back, but he didn't want to so he offered free weed, and well who can pass that up?

"We only have a half hour before my mom comes home." Jack mumbled into my lips. "I know." I replied and leaning back into kissing I wanted to get this over with.

A forty five minutes later I was walking home, when I finally reached my house, I noticed the weird looking brick house, that had a ton of flowers outside of it, actually had someone mowing the lawn. When I saw him I thought I recognized him.

I looked past the somewhat familiar teen boy mowing the lawn and saw another teen boy sitting on a lawn chair and was doing what looked like homework. When he looked up I realized exactly who it was. Daniel Goldman. My tutor. Fuck. I really hope he wasn't my neighbor. Once we made eye contact I had to do something so, I gave a tiny wave. Shit! I thought. I ran inside as quickly as I could.

Slamming the door behind me, I could breathe again. Dropping my bag on the floor, I looked around my cluttered house.

I probably had the smallest house in the neighborhood. I enjoyed the comfort of it though. It was small and slightly cramped with books, pictures, and furniture. My father was an aspiring photographer so there were often boxes of his developed pictures scattered about the house.

I proceeded to unzip my black pleather combat boots and pull out my sketch book from my backpack.

35 minutes into my mindless doodles and there was a ring at the doorbell followed by loud arguing. Frowning I got up and warily opened the door. Standing in front of me with goofy smiles plastered on their faces was none other than Daniel Goldsmith and William Landers.

"Hello?" I stared at them with a very confused look on my face. At this point Dan stopped smiling and cleared his throat. "Um. Hey. Lillie." I raised my eyebrows waiting for him to continue. "How are you?" William quickly covering for Dan. "What on earth are you guys doing here?" Rolling my eyes at William's question.

"Well we were...kinda...just wanted to know if...if maybe you wanted to come over and uh... just hang out with us... I mean you seem really cool and like I just thought-"

"Sure why not." I cut Dan off and slip on my extremely dirty black and white converse.

I wouldn't trade the looks on their faces when I brushed past them to get to William's house for the world.
