The next morning, the sun glowed through the Sully's hut. Only Waking Neteyam up. He stretched his arms, feeling sore from the night before. Sleeping on those mats is not fun, he thought. He wondered how the sun had not woken up the rest of his family. At his home, the sun only shone on the tall trees, nothing like that.Neteyam decided to go for a walk to explore around and get to know the place better. Once he found the sand, he realized how early it must have been because no one was up yet, only him. He walked along the beach, hearing the waves crash and feeling the sand on his feet. It was calming and peaceful. Netayam stopped near a rock pool that went out past the waves. He walked out as far as he could and sat on a rock dangerously close to the water and sat on the rock thinking about the forest missing it like crazy. He had zoned out, remembering his old home, not noticing Aonung creeping up behind him...
Tsireya had woken up to the sun and was getting ready to train the Sullys. She went over to Aonung to wake him up as well he got up and decided to go for a walk while he waited for the Sullys to wake up. He was walking along the beach when he saw a familiar blue-looking Na'vi. Once he had gotten closer, he realized it was the one who signed to him when they first met. Aonung noticed how close the blue boy was to the water, and that gave him an idea. He slowly walked over to Neteyam, trying to be very quiet. He noticed Neteyam's tail was sawying side to side. Perfect, he thought. He got up behind and grabbed his shoulders, pushing him into the water. Neteyam yelled in shock, not realizing what had just happened.
As Aonung had pushed him into the water, a huge wave had come and before Neteyam could recover from the shock and swim back up, it smashed over his head, pushing him back down and slamming his body against the rocks he was sitting on. knocking all the air out of him, winding him. Neteyam tried to swim back up but started to run out of breath. He could feel himself weakening and sinking back down.
Aonung was laughing at Neteyam's reaction, proud of himself for coming up with such an idea. He then saw the massive wave coming and saw Neteyam get smashed against the rocks. "Awh shit he's gonna get winded, I'll wait to see if he can save himself," Aonung said to himself. He waited a good 3 minutes and started to get a little worried. Another 2 and he jumped into the water. Aonung was swimming around looking for Neteyam until he saw him at the bottom of the reef trying, desperately to swim up. Aonung swam down towards Neteyam. And started to pull him up.
Neteyam had lost all his strength and was close to passing out. He didn't even realize someone had grabbed him and started. Once, Aonung swam up onto the surface. Neteyam immediately started gasping for air, breathing hard. He grabbed onto Aonung for support. His body was still limp. As Neteyam came back to his senses and realized what he was gripping so tightly to. It was Aonung.
Neteyam immediately shoved himself off Aonung, forgetting that he had nearly drowned 3 seconds ago and not realizing that he was still exhausted and in shock. He started to sink back down, flailing around, trying to gasp for air. "calm down man, you nearly drowned. Let me help you swim back in?" Aonung said with a mean-ish toan. Saying it in a way of mocking Neteyam. Aonung saw Neteyam wasn't calming down and instead grabbed his waist with one hand, flipped Neteyam onto his back, and used the other hand to swim in. Neteyam gave up and decided to expect his help instead of trying to drown himself.
Once they were in and out of the water, a bunch of people started to surround the two boys wanting to know what happened. After a few minutes, Neteyam managed to stand himself up, still a little wobbly, and pushed his way through the crowd trying to find his way back to the hut. Leaving Aonung speechless that he had just saved the guy's life, and he didn't even get a thankyou? What a dick, he thought.
