Ch. 21 A trip to the underworld pt.2

Alex's P.O.V.

I woke up to knocking on my bedroom door I groggily sat up on my bed that had the sheets and blankets wrinkled from my nap, I rubbed my eyes, got up from the bed and stumbled to the door.

I rubbed my tired eyes as I opened up my door, I look up to see Rias in not her normal attire that I usually see her in, she was wearing a red sweater and a black skirt with her glasses on. I'm not going to lie, she looks attractive, scratch that- she looks like my type.

I push away those thoughts and focused on the task at hand

Alex: "Rias, can I help you?"

Rias: "Alex, can I come in?"

Rias has a small smile on her face with a light tint of blush on her cheeks, but she didn't look like she had ulterior motives. I gave out a nod and moved out of her way, I then closed the door when she walked into my room.

Alex: "Sorry that my room is such a mess, I just put on some pajamas and kinda took a nap.."

I nervously scratched the back of my neck as she looked around the room, Rias looked over her shoulder at me and gave me a closed eye smile

Rias: "No it's perfectly fine."

I just gave out a nod and sat at the foot of my bed, watching her as she scanned my room, after a moment of silence I chose to speak up first.

Alex: "So....what bring you here? You should be with your family right now."

Rias just shook her head and crossed her arms

Rias: "After your outburst at dinner my parents and I had a talk and you actually swayed my father in calling off the marriage, he said that you had some fine points."

Alex: "Mmm....."

I leaned back on my arms and tilted my head back

Rias: "I wanted to thank you for getting me out of that situation, I didn't want to marry Riser."

Alex: "I know, I mean- no one would marry him unless it's like a formal thing so I get that."

Rias walked over to me and sat next to me while I layed in my back, still feeling the sleepiness that I had since I woke up. There was a minute of silence, it was comfortable, weirdly comfortable.

Rias: "I....have a confession to make.."

I looked at her from the side of my eye

Alex: "Mhm, what's that?"

There was blush in her face, darker than before and her long red bangs covered her eyes and some of her face

Rias: "I didn't come over here just to thank you.."

I raise an eyebrow, I look down to see that she was fiddling with her fingers, I then look back up at her.

Rias: "I know that you don't like me-"

I then sat up

Alex: "Look red, I do like you, but that fact is that you come on too strong when it comes to things that's all."

As I finished interrupting her I shrugged my shoulders and layed back in my back, Rias then cleared her throat.

Rias: "W-well, I just want to eat the air... U-um, I'm sorry that I have been overbearing and flirtatious, I'll try and not do that around you for now on..."

She gave me a sad smile and I felt a ping in my chest, it hurt, I feel bad about the way I treated her, the way I shut her down, the way that I just straight up ignore her when all of us are hanging out.

I sit up again and put my arms on my thighs, and I hung my head low and gave out a shakey breath, I then slick my hair back and slicked my bangs back before then going back in front of my eyes.

Alex: "I haven't been the best to you, and the way that I've treated you, wasn't right. No one should be treated like that, being ignored and just straight up cruel, that was shitty of me to do."

I took a moment before looking up at her to see her beautiful teal eyes, wait-beautiful? I push that thought away that thought and took in a deep breath.

Alex: "I'm sorry about the way that I've been treating ya, I'll try and be better to you, yea?"

Rias had a smile on her face and nodded, we both then got up from our seats from the bed and I walked her to my bedroom door and opened it for her, she then gave me a smile.

Rias: "I hope you have a good night Alex."

I nodded my head and gave her a smile back

Alex: "Yeah, you too Rias."

Before she stepped out of my room she gave me a little peck on my cheek, I could feel how soft and warm her lips were on my cheek, my eyes widened at her action, but before I could say anything she was already gone.

I gently closed my door and went back to my bed and sat I the middle of it, there was so much to unpack; Rias won't be as flirtatious with me anymore, I'll try and be a better person to her, and she gave me a kiss on my cheek.

I don't even know where to begin with this, I mean, this is fucking mental in what she did, but why did I like it? Her lips were so soft and warm it was like something I've never felt before.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I hear knocking at my door again, I gave our a sigh and got up from my bed again and walked to the door, I open it to see Koneko holding a cat plushie and wearing an oversized band t-shirt of mine.

I gave out a small smile

Alex: "Couldn't sleep on your own?"

Koneko: "Shut up and let me in."

I gave out a soft chuckle and moved to the side for her to get in, Koneko trotted in with her large cat plushie and immediately went to sit on my bed. I rolled my eyes and closed the door behind me before climbing up onto the bed again.

I wrapped one of my arms around Koneko's neck and gave her a kiss on her temple and rubbed her back.

Alex: "Come on, let's go to bed it's late, Kay?"

She just nodded as I layed my head on my pillow while Koneko layed hers on my shoulder still cuddling onto that plushie. I drape the blankets onto us and turned off the lamp light, I then wrap my arm around her and sniffed her hair.

It smelled like catnip, that's kinda on brand for her, I snuggle into her more as I hear her purring softly, my guess is that she's asleep already. I guess I should do the same, I close my eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.
