Aether heard a soft knock at his door. He rubbed his eyes, rolling over to look at his clock. 6:15 it read. Aether groaned, calling "come in..." his voice horse from sleep. His sister: Lumine walked in "Auntie, told me to tell you to set your alarm for 6 instead of 6:30. Your first class is at 6:30 this year." Aether glared at the direction of the kitchen. Where he could heard cooking. "Ok" Lumine nodded and left. He reached for the small clock and changed the alarm time. He got ready and met with his Sister and Auntie. "Ready?" His Auntie asked looking him up and down. "Yes." His sister cheered and Aether just nodded extremely tired.

At the school gates the family parted ways and went to their respective places. Aether went to his math class and sat at the back. A blonde boy sat next to him equally as quiet, but sending him glances every once and awhile. Aether paid him no mind and got his phone out.

[after class because I'm lazy af!]

Aether stood and nodded at the blonde, walking off. He had a spare two hours until his next class and from the sound of it so did his childhood friend, Xiao. Xiao was a year older then him, they were neighbors when his mother was in the military. They kept in touch even after his parents passed, and Xiao's parents quit the military to help raise the two siblings. "Xiao." The handsome man looked up and stood. They where the same height but Xiao looked bigger because of his demeanor and sense of style. "My new class is at 6 am. 6 am Xiao." Aether complained, Xiao gave him a sorry look. "Mines at 7" Aether glared. "Ah shut it." He pushed the older playfully, getting a playful glare in return.

The time came where Xiao had to go to his second class leaving Aether alone. Aether tapped his fingers together. Bored. He stood and walked off. Off the campus. After his parents died he needed something to take his mind off things. Lumine chose cooking but Aether chose music. He would play the cello anytime he felt upset or bored.

[1 1/2 hours later]

He and his friend, Xinyan (who play guitar) where just rapping up when they heard someone clearing their throat. "Aether. The doctor said you had to wait until your wrist was healed." He turned to see Tighnari a friend he met his first year. Tighnari was a doctor student in his third year. They used to have biology together and got close. "Wait. You said you were clear!" Xinyan yelled glaring. She walked over putting the cello away for him and handing Tighnari the case. "Go." "But-" "nope. Come back when you're fully healed." Aether huffed walking off Tighnari behind him. "I'm fine! My wrist is fine!" He yelled at the doctor student who rolled his eyes. "If you push it your wrist won't heal." Aether huffed. "Fine." Tighnari smiled. "Good boy!" Aether felt his face burn and he looked away. He always had something for Tighnari, and the comments like that didn't help.

[later that night because once again. Lazy!]

Aether sat looking for an apartment of his own on his laptop. His dog Paimon (yes I did) laying on his lap. "Aether!" His other aunties voice rang through the door. His auntie's wife Beidou. "Yes!?" "Xiao's here!" "Let him on up!" Xiao walked in a few minutes later. He and Xiao where planing on rooming together even though Xiao already had an apartment he needed a new one. His was in a cheap apartment building and it was disgusting. He often came over to Aether's when his next door neighbor had "company". "What do you have so far?" "There's this pretty good apartment right behind the campus! It looks perfect!" "Great, let me see" Xiao sat next to Aether leaning over him to see. Aether could see every last detail of Xiao's face this close, he'd always had a small thing for Xiao too, but he'd never admit to it. "Yeah it does, put in an offer" (my parents rent out houses I know a tiny) "half and half?" He asked Xiao nodded "I'll pay half and you pay half same for the bills" "you got it!"

After a week they'd got the apartment and moved in. It was a decent size. Aether and Xiao knew how to get along. His Father was a doctor and his mom was in the military, they often didn't come home and Xiao had three other siblings. (All adopted) so they had to share one twin bed. So they grew up knowing everything about each-other and being very comfortable around each-other.

"XIAO!!" "Yeah!?" Aether walked into the living room. "Add dog food to the list please" it had been a few weeks since they moved in together and it was going great. Xiao nodded. "I'm having some friends over later. Thought you should know, you might want to put on more then my shirt and boxers." Aether looked down. "Good idea"

Thought cello suited Aether more then boxing
