I was left to wallow in a pit of insanity for God knows how long. I continued to rock back and forth just to give my body something to focus on doing instead of passing out. I couldn't find the strength to move. I was weak and afraid and home-sick. I missed my family terribly, even though it had only been a couple of hours. I longed for my mother's comforting embrace and her food and my sister's cat-like squawking.

The boy (whose name was still unknown to me) had left shortly after making his promise. I didn't know whether to believe him or not. How could I? He said he wouldn't hurt me, yet he was the one that knocked me out in the first place!

My tummy rumbled and I wondered if I was going to be fed or not. I glanced around the room; it was beautiful. It looked like someone had gone to a lot of trouble to design it and if I was in it under different circumstances, I would've enjoyed staying. The walls were a creamy-yellow and the thick carpet purple. The bed I woke up in was four-poster and queen sized. Long heavy curtains hung at the sides of the tall glass doors which led out onto a balcony. Had I been able to move I would have tried stepping out into the setting sun's light. An enormous wardrobe dominated the wall opposite the bed and a dressing table with a mirror stood by its side.

I froze when the door opened.

A head appeared, shortly followed by the rest of Mel's body. In he arms rested a tray of the most delicious smelling food I had ever smelled in my whole life. then again, that could have been due to the lack of food in my stomach and the stress that burned all of my breakfast's energy away.

"Okay, please listen to me. I'm here to bring you food. I'm going to walk in and put the tray on your bed and leave again. I beg of you not to scream again; it kills my ears. Sound okay?" Her voice was soft and caring; she was trying to keep me calm. I felt like I was some wild animal they were afraid would rip them to shreds if they upset me.

Slowly, I nodded, signalling that her plan was fine by me - as long as she didn't try to come near me. At all. Cautiously she entered and made no sudden movements as she did exactly as she said she would. After she left I shakily rose to my feet. The smell of roast chicken and vegetables wafted in my direction, giving me much needed incentive to reach the bed.

Later, I fell asleep, full and comfortable. Yes I was still afraid and yes I still wanted to go home but my body yearned for rest, and if I wanted any hope for escape, then I would need all the enerfy I could get.

Sadly, my slumber didn't last too long. I became conscious once the door opened and someone came in. I pretended to be asleep and hoped they would just leave me alone. The lock clicked and I tried to keep my breathing steady. I heard nothing for a second or two and then the bed depressed when someone sat down on it. Fabric rustled and a moment later, the covers beside me were lifted open and shut. Body heat reached me in miliseconds. I'd honestly thought that vampires were supposed to be cold creatures, not warm!

I was drifting away into the land of nod but more movement re-alerted me. Suddenly an arm wrapped itself around my waist and I shrieked. His strong arm pulled me against his muscled chest and I quivered in fear.

You keep telling yourself that you're quivering in 'fear'.

Who are you?

Oh, just that niggling little voice inside your head that loves to annoy you.

Get out.

I live here. I'm not going anywhere. Now be a good girl and snuggle into his delicious body. You know you want to!

"L-let me go!" I riggled around and attempted to loosen his grasp; he tightened it. I grew fearful of what he might do to me. "Let me go now or I'll start screaming again!" I warned. His chest reverberated against my back as he chuckled.

"All i have to do is put a hand ove your mouth and my problem is solved. Either that or I can threaten you. I'm not going to hurt you so I don't see why you're struggling. Just relax; I'll keep you safe. You're too pretty to hurt-"

"Say what?!" I gasped. Why in the world would he think I was pretty? I am definitely in a psycho's house! I kicked back my foot aiming for the place where 'the sun don't shine' but he trapped my ankle between the two of his.

"Come on angel, don't do that. And I'd advise you to stop moving; it's like you're vibrating and vampires are very lustful. So unless you want to do something, stop." I froze in place for the second time that day.

"Let go of me. Please." I begged. I couldn't have a stranger holding me in his arms all night!

"Nope. I'm comfy like this and you fit perfectly." Huh? What the hell was he blabbering on about? "Do I get a goodnight kiss?" He asked.

"You did not just ask that question. There is no way I'd kiss you! You kidnapped me! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

He sighed. "There's nothing wrong with me, I just wanted a kiss froma beautiful angel in my arms. And I think I'm going to get one-"

"No you're not. I don't even know your name. So get lost."

"Ooh, fiery. I like it. I suppose I should get to kow you a bit first; after all, we will be spending the rest of our lives together."
