"Yuta-hyung,"

Yuta swallowed his sip of water, turning to whomever was callng him, finding Xiaojun beside him.

"You're really good at dancing." The Chinese compliments. "Sicheng said you were good, but you really are better than he'd say."

Yuta smiled, "Thank you. Sicheng talks about me, hm?"

"Yeah, sometimes." Xiaojun confirmed. "Ten and Kun too sometimes."

Yuta hummed, a little smile on his lips. "You're good too, you're picking up the choreography quickly." He complimented.

"Thanks, this one is easier than others, I wouldn't've picked it up so quickly if it was as hard as WayV, 127, or Dream's." Xiaojun dismisses the compliment with the shake of his head.

Yuta nodded, "Hmm, true, you should teach me one of WayV's choreos, I've seen clips, they look interesting." He extends an olive branch, during Resonance era they weren't close despite doing Dancing In The Rain and Resonance together, and he's aware how awkward they are.

The younger's eyes widened for a second before he gathered himself, smile bright, "Of course, you'll have to teach me one of your choreographies too, if you don't mind."

The choreographer called for their group to the center. "Of course! Let's practice together soon, okay?" He pats Xiaojun on the shoulder as they put down their water bottles and head to the middle of the room.

Through the mirror, he watches the two standing close, almost shoulder to shoulder, mouths moving eagerly, whose conversation were hidden under the booming of the music.

"Jaehyun! Focus on dancing!"

The voice of the choreographer snapped him out of his staring, and he focuses back on himself as he dances, getting himself off autopilot, moves instantly becoming sharper. He dared to spare a glance back, finding a pair of eyes on him, which are quick to look away.

"Today we'll be going through our cues entering and exiting the stage, getting in and out, okay? Let's get to this!"

Yuta had listened carefully when the choreographer explained how they would enter and exit, and sighed in relief finding out Jaehyun wouldn't be on his side of the stage.

But as the first group came off the center of the room, he found Jaehyun standing across the room, and his eyes couldn't help but latch on to him. The younger was dressed simply, a black tshirt and gray sweatpants, a black mask and cap seeming shielding the majority of his face, yet his eyes were sharp and seemed to stare him back in the eyes. He had to force down the blush that threatened to creep onto his cheeks. Why is he staring at me like that? It's like he's burning holes into me...

Movement emerged from the edge of his vision and it took him half a second to realize he was supposed to enter, cursing quietly, he entered with the others, a second late. He winces as he hears the choreographer shout out a reminder, clearly aimed at him, "Stay focused! Remember your cues!"

As he puts his attention on dancing and mouthing the lyrics, he can't help but think, if it wasn't for Jaehyun staring I wouldn't have almost missed my cue!

Wrapping up practice hours later, he finds himself packing up next to Xiaojun, "You did good today Xiaojunnie." He complimented as he put his water bottle inside his bag, swinging it over his shoulder.

The Chinese smiled. "Thanks hyung, you too, you did amazing." Having been ready to leave for a minute now, the two started to cross the room towards the door. "Ah hyung,"

"Hmm?"

"Do you want to eat together some time? I know we're not super close, but I'd like to know you better —but if you don't want to that's fine, I just thought it'd be nice—" the younger started rambling, evidently nervous.
