The scream was filled with pure agony. It filled my head shattering my brain and crushing my heart. That's when I realized as I fell to one knee that it was in my head. But it wasn't my voice or my words, it was a girl that I don't even know, haven't even heard of and she was in my head screaming for someone to help.
The blood drain from my face, I've heard screams like this before, more than I care to remember. This was a scream caused by excurtiating pain and fear. Tears started to stream from my eyes as that realisation hit me. I screamed in my head praying for an answer 'Where are you?'
My prayers were answered by a weak trembling voice 'Greyson's'. I run out of the bathroom back to my father and I lean close to his ear and whisper "Where are the new ones?" Instantly he understood and nods his head then starts towards his car. I jump in my truck and follow close behind him. He leads me to his mansion and we enter the property and drive on a cobblestone path deeper into the land. He stops beside a shed, broken and abandoned.
The door opens automatically and slowly creaks closed. A dark flight of stairs goes downward into omnimous darkness. Without any hesitation he walks forward. I follow close behind and after a few moments screams of pain reach my ears. The darkness at the bottom of the stairs starts to lighten. Turning the last corner I pause in absolute disgust at the sight before me.
People of every shape, race, size, and age where chained to the wall. Men in black uniforms walked up and down the row of slaves, brandishing hot branding irons and whips. A small child coughed next to me and the nearest man pressed their branding iron against her back causing her to shreik in pain.
I walk down the row and look at all the beaten dirt covered faces until I come to a girl around 18, a word sprung to the back of my mind as soon as I looked in her eyes 'help'.
I grab a key from the nearest man and unlock her chains. Slowly she stands up her head bowed allowing her brown hair to fall across her face. Then she speaks " Why?" the same word my sister said as she slipped into the dark waters of the lake. "Because you asked." Her head snaps up and she looks at me, she knows, she knows I'm the one that heard her that yelled to her and now I'm the one to save her.
