When Henry was killed - Tommy felt as if a piece of himself had just.. crumbled into the oblivion. Lost to an endless void.

He hadn't been allowed to grieve the loss of his lifelong soulmate friend. Almost immediately he was sent into a war that he didn't want to fight by the others. He would've been fine with just talking it out and coming to a truce, just wanting it all to be over. He'd lost all motivation to fight after he'd lost the other half of himself.

In the end, he had yet to be given that chance to mourn. War after war, battle after battle. There wasn't any time in between everything that'd been happening for him to just.. think. He had thought that maybe there would've been a chance for him in exile, but he had yet to get a moment to think - the constant threat of Dream finding out his origin didn't give him room to think.

After the animal had been slaughtered, he hadn't had a very effective way to.. nullify the not-so-enjoyable parts of being a warden hybrid. The necklace he had created from Henry's leather did make sure that it wasn't obvious he was a hybrid - and it had worked. The rest of the SMP still thought he was human. It just wasn't the most favorable method.

Tommy fiddled with the small pendant that was attached to his necklace at the thought. It was possibly the only thing he had left of Henry. The pendant was a mix of the sculk that was on the animal's hooves and small pieces of his own. A soft - and very weak - glow emanated out of small gaps in the sculk.

He rubbed a finger lightly on the surface of the pendant, raising a hand to scrub at the tears that formed in his eyes at the low beating he felt from it.

It reminded him of when he first met Henry. The sculk that had surrounded them had seemingly created brought the two of them together. Together, they had figured out how the world works. Together, they had figured out how to make the world bearable. Together, they had figured out how to hide.

But now the other wasn't here. There was no more 'we' and no more 'Together', and he wasn't all too sure how to live with that fact.

Now, the two of them were not there to protect each other. Though he'd failed at that, hadn't he?

He wasn't too sure how the others hadn't noticed the two originated from the Deep Dark. Sure, now he had found more ways to hide it, but he hadn't had a clue how to when he was first put into the situation! Henry's body was literally covered in sculk when he died!

Though, he was grateful for this. Their last interactions after being revealed as warden hybrids weren't.. the best.

One thing he was sure he was thankful for was the fact that the necklace he had left of Henry would still nullify his warden-like features. It didn't completely rid him of them as Henry did, but without it, he would be doomed.

Before this.. situation, his ribcage was still exposed, having never been able to hide the gaping hole in his chest with whatever magic was used. He had been used to hiding it. Used to hiding the small amounts of dark sculk that swirled around the area, surrounding a blue, beating heart that was tucked in behind the ribs. Before this situation, it hadn't fucking glowed bright blue!

He had resorted to wearing a vest below his shirt. It concealed the glow well enough, but he was sure to wear a chest plate as often as possible - the glow being rather visible if it was dark, even with the vest.

There were a few other changes to his more human appearance. Sculk had appeared in small amounts on his arms and legs, but they weren't too hard to hide. Black horn's had seemingly sprouted on his head (which, he found, was much less painful than it was to grow his 'original' horns), though his hair hid them well enough, despite their dark colour. He was glad they didn't glow - unlike his larger pair.
