The ice was too thin to trek upon. The two of us were in great peril. It was a situation of life and death. The carnivorous pack of bloodthirsty wolves were gaining speed, catching up, step by step. We were forced to cross the frozen lake. We took each step with cautious precision. The wolves had just reached the bank of the lake, snarling as they angrily witnessed their prey stagger off. They dare not follow us, as they were knowledgeable enough to know the combined weight of their pack would cause an ice flow.

Dusk had no intention of being hesitant in its arrival. Soon enough, the sky was covered by a navy-blue blanket. Rachel and I overcame great difficulty struggling back to our campsite. The radiant Northern Lights caused the sky to appear illuminated. The sight was as inspiring as it was beautiful. The vibrant colour change was almost constant, every pattern flowing more perfectly than the last. Just the sight was awe-inspiring and spell binding. Who knew such s deadly place could be so beautiful?

Silence widespread around the frozen wasteland. Only the faint hooting of snowy owls could be heard throughout the motionless night. "Rachel? Are you awake?"
"Yea, sorta, Ally. How come you're awake?"
"I can't sleep right now. How can you do it? You make it look so easy!" I whispered, in hope of a positive reply. "Just close your eyes and let the world slowly drift you to sleep."
Dawn seemed to take a long time before it finally decided to come out to play. I highly doubt Rachel had come across any difficulties resting, unlike myself. I'm not sure if it was the cold, or the soft whispers of the wind that prevented me from dozing off, but either way, I had to egg myself on, just to pull myself out of my bear-skin and slump over to join Rachel at the newly-lit campfire. I think we're having salmon, again.

We're taking a hike up some of the commonly surrounding mountains to look for supplies. Rachel insists we go, as according to her, 'It's the only way we can survive.' Great, so now we have to complete a complicated, exhausting and probably meaningless task. Will we ever find our way home?

"Ally help me! Please help? I'm going to drow-" Rachel's distress call was cut off, as fate decided to send her into the frozen depths of the ocean.
"Rachel!" I scream in sheer horror. Had I just lost my only friend? There was nothing for it. If Rachel died, there would be no point to my useless survival. Closing my eyes, I jumped in after her. The moment my weakened body touched the ice cold water, a chill ran down my spine. Not because the water the cold, although it was, but because I feared the loss of my only friend. It was silent and icy. I could barely see my beloved friend, sinking slowly and allowing the current to choose her path. I felt like doing the same, but my determination was too strong. Against all my will, I forced myself to go on. For Rachel
I thought I was too late. I thought I had lost hope. I thought I had lost Rachel. Further below, I could see underwater geyers, as active as the Sun's shine. "That's it!" My mind spoke, as I was too weak to speak aloud. If I managed to push Rachel into a geyser, the force may just push her back up! My mind was racing. The experience was terrifying, yet thrilling at the same time. With a gentle nudge, I allowed Rachel to drift towards the bubbling geyser. My hope was at maximum capacity. I anxiously await for Rachel to be accelerated back up to the almost frozen surface. It was so frightening. I thought we were both going to perish, and join the many sunken ships in the monstrous blue ocean. Out of the blue, the geyser erupted, its force just strong enough to excel Rachel and me back to the surface.
