6: LET'S TALK PLAN

"Cat Noir, I need you to meet me at the Eifel tower. I found something on Nix's miraculous." 

"I'm already here, Bugaboo." 

Ladybug screamed and hit Cat Noir with her yoyo. "Don't do that!" She sighed when Cat Noir made a pouty face. "Let's talk Nix. She uses the miraculous of the diamond."

"I didn't even know that existed." 

"Me neither. It was lost decades ago. I wonder why Master Fu didn't say anything about it."  

"Probably because the world was better off without it."

"You don't know that Cat Noir."

"Just look at Nix! She is careless, impulsive, and a very bad influence! Remember our last encounter? You started scolding me because of her!" 

"I didn't know you thought so highly of me, Cat" Ladybug and Cat Noir turned around surprised. Nix was sitting behind them listening to their conversation. "Hello, you two. Missed me?"

"Nix!" The heroes stood ready to fight but Nix leaned back and relaxed. "Calm down. I'm not here to fight. How does a negotiation sound?"

"With you? Sounds like a facade!" 

"Listen, I don't have a lot of time so let's get down to business. I don't want to fight, you don't want to fight. I'm sure we will reach a very reasonable middle ground." The miraculous holders stared at her as if Y/N had grown 2 heads. Perhaps it was an odd encounter, but Nix had enough of her father's orders. His constant reminder of capturing the miraculous was deteriorating. 

All for what? Curing her and Adrien's mother? She wasn't even sure the miraculous would even work. The girl had a strong feeling this would lead to chaos. Besides, didn't her mother deserve to rest? Y/N had thought about this a lot recently. It felt cruel to meddle with death. Life was better when she thought her mother rested in peace. And she will. Y/N will honor her memory by letting her rest and giving her a proper burial. 

It was insane to think a miraculous could bring her mother back. It was only wishful thinking. Her father should have known better than to pursue a path with no exit. No one can escape death. Y/N had recently come to terms with this. It was time to put an end to this madness. 

"I will help you stop Hawkmoth"

Silence

Nix sighed and rolled her eyes before standing closer to them. She restated her proposal. "I will give you Hawkmoth under one condition."

"Is this a joke? A very sick one if that's the case" Cat Noir glared and stood a cautious stance. 

"Why? What do you gain from this, Nix? After all this time, why should we believe, you of all people will help us when all you have done is destroy peace?" Ladybug said coldly, her eyes sending a piercing glare to her opponent. 

"I gain freedom. My family gains freedom."

Silence

"Look, I know you don't trust me, and I don't need you to. But if you call yourselves Paris' heroes then you will preserve that image by at least listening to what I have to say." This was it, now or never. 

Nix took off her miraculous ring. The weight on her shoulders gone as the magic flowed out of her body. The heroes gasped at the sight, no longer holding a fighting stance, but shocked to see Y/N Agreste standing before them. 

Cat Noir felt his heart stop. This couldn't be. His sister was Nix. He had been fighting his sister all along. 

"I am returning the miraculous of the diamond." Pixie, her kwami, nodded to Ladybug. She knew beforehand Y/N had to return her. "I am Y/N Agreste and I renounce the miraculous of the diamond. You will take care of Pixie and help me save my family."

His family needs saving? Cat Noir felt his world shatter. This couldn't be right. His heart beat to an unhealthy speed. He was torn between running to his sister or feeling betrayed. He had failed as a hero to protect his family. 

Ladybug snapped out of her shock trance. "I don't understand. What is your relation to Hawkmoth and why are you willing to help after all this time?"

"What's important is that people need to be saved. Hawkmoth's ambition will be the end if we don't stop him now" If her recent tasks to akumatize victims was anything to go by. "I will help you stop him under the condition of secrecy. The truth will do more harm than good if it goes public."

Their identities have to remain a secret. Being in the public's eye good side was tiring enough, Y/N couldn't imagine being on the villain's side. 

"Very well. Let's talk plan"
