.OK this is my first story so bare with me. I know it is short but if enough people vote/comment I will write more.

-------------------------------------------------

We just sat there in her car. Just sat there, looking forward. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a squirrel. Just a squirrel. He was jumping around. I watched him for what felt like hours but I knew it was only maybe 5 minutes. The squirrel was talented I'll give it that. Because after a while it was on a power line, and it jumped off, did a few flips and landed on a branch and spun around it like a gymnast and then simply ran away. I heard a deep inhale, as if someone were about to say something. " I saw it too." I said simply not bothering to look at her. She is my best friend. "Oh okay." she softly said in a hushed tone. And then we just sat. In silence.

Me and Maggie have been bestfriends for four years. We met when I was a freshman in high-school and she was a sophomore. Here we are. Just sitting here. We are a bit of hippies. We have a theory that we had a "past life" in the 60's. "Hey Paige. You want to go? You seem bored." I just sat there. "I mean, if you want to. I'm chill." I said and then the car started. We drove down the almost empty highway.

Maggie had her window down even though it was January. Cigarette pressed between her lips and hair blowing in the wind. I had to admit, I hate how beautiful she is. She is perfect. Even all her freckles are perfect. She was much more girly than I was. She had a perfect body. Where as I always struggled with my weight. I secretly thought she hung out with me to make herself even more attractive. I realized I was still staring so I turned on her radio. Promises by Nero was blaring through her system. We had a strange taste in music. We could go from listening to The Beatles to Skrillex. We started to dance with the bass and sing but her subs made our voices vibrate. Life was always infinite around her. But sooner or later I had to go home.
