Finally.

I can finally leave this damned world.

She stepped towards the edge, wind whipping her hair around as she stared down at the dots of light below her.

This is it.

She thought to herself, turning her back to the edge and hovering one foot over the emptiness.

She fell backwards, a sense of relief filling her for a moment.

But that moment didn't last very long.

Before she knew it, the sound of wings flapping got nearer and she stopped falling.

"Woah there kiddo! Let's try not throwing ourselves off of tall buildings, alright?"

She saw who had caught her, the pro hero named Hawks.

Something welled up inside of her chest when she realized she wasn't dead.

Was it anger?

Relief?

Fear?

Every one of those emotions hit her at once as the hero flew back up to the roof of the building and landed, setting her down on the pavement.

As soon as she was set down, her mind went blank.

The only thing she could process was that she wasn't dead.

She failed.

She was still alive.

"I'm not supposed to be here... why did you have to come save me? The world would be better... all of this pain would be gone if I could just..."

She began clawing at her arms, which had white lines, scars, strewn about them.

"It won't solve anything. Trust me."

Hawks placed his hands on her shoulders, having crouched down to her level and she met his gaze.

With that, tears began to fall down her face and hit the pavement under her feet.

She didn't know what to say to him. She could hardly think about anything in that moment.

As everything began rushing through her head, she broke down.

The pro hero gently wrapped his arms around the girl, saying nothing as she cried.

After a few moments, Machi heard footsteps behind her and something quickly surrounded her.

She caught a glance of them breifly...

Feathers, the crimson color of dawn.

After that point, everything she could recall was fuzzy.

She remembered somewhere along the line being taken to a hospital...

Was I taken to a hospital?

I don't remember any more...

My head feels so fuzzy...

I think I'm just going to take a nap for a while...
