when my hand falls next to yours
do you think to go hold it?
does the thought of painting me
with chaos jump-start your heart?

you are the starlight, piercing
through the pitch black skies of night
distance unfathomable
but you still shine so brightly
you enchant all you walk past
and intrigue their dormant minds
and i wish you'd engage mine
but city lights drown you out
you're unreachable again
you're an enigma, my dear
but you are one worth solving
every glance you steal makes you
infinitely elusive
endlessly, fleetingly grand
