Letizia
"Zia, this is Señorito Alejandro Maximiliano Roferos. Nag-iisang anak ni Don Jimuelo." Biglang sulpot ni Mommy sabay pakilala n'ya sa kasama. "And Alejandro, this is my unica hija, Letizia Reneé."
I checked out the guy in front of me, who my mom introduced me to, but I wasn't feeling it. I mean, mukha naman siyang mabait.
He's tall, has an incredible physique, super gwapo, pero he looks...gay? But don't get me wrong, walang masama if bakla man siya, halata lang kasi na hindi siya comfortable sa pagpapakilala sa kaniya ni Mom sa akin.
"Zia, say hi to him naman," pagtulak sa akin ni Mom. Palihim na napairap ako.
Nakakairita! I'm supposed to be at home right now, but gusto nina Mom and Dad na samahan ko sila rito sa birthday celebration ni Tito Jowelo. Even though I had other plans for the day, I couldn't say no to them. They believe being there for their friend on such a special occasion is important.
Ayoko pa naman sana na masayang lang ang vacation ko kasi two weeks lang ako here sa province before ako bumalik sa city, so I don't want to waste any time while I'm here.
"Hi, Letizia, I'm Alejandro. Nice to meet you," with a smile, he extended his hand and introduced himself.
"H-Hello," I hesitantly greeted him back with a forced smile.
"Uh...I like your dress—I mean, it looks good on you kasi." Mahinhin akong natawa sa kanya.
Huli ka bakla!
Sinasabi ko na nga ba, he's into Barbie too!
I flashed him a sweet smile and a wink. "Thank you, Alejandro," or should I say, Alejandra?
"It seems like the two of you get along really well." Mom excitedly exclaimed. "No doubt, the two of you make a perfect match. So, I will leave you two alone for now."
After my mom left, Alejandro and I laughed as if we both found her words hilarious. Kakakilala pa lang namin, perfect match agad? Poo-ta.
"Hindi talaga Alejandro gusto mong name, 'no?" I casually asked. Nagulat naman siya sa tanong ko.
"Wha-What...do you mean?"
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone." Tinaas ko pa ang isa kong kamay to let him know I'll keep his secret safe.
"How did you know? Ni-isa sa mga taong nakikilala ko, walang nakaalam na I'm gay." Amuse na tanong niya.
I just shrugged. "You're too obvious kaya."
Natawa siya ng mahina. "Really? OMG, I gotta be more careful next time. Anyway, call me Alex na lang."
"Okay, Alex. Zia na lang din ang itawag mo sa 'kin." Feel ko magiging ka-close ko ang isang 'to.
"Tayo lang ba ang mga teenagers dito? Halos mga gurang nakikita ko, eh." bored na sabi ko.
He laughed again, "Hoy girl, maka-gurang ka naman. Pero no, my cousins are here too."
"Your cousins?" Kunot-noong baling ko sa kaniya.
"Yup, the Roferos Sisters"
Ah, oo nga pala. I forgot that Tito Jowelo has daughters, pero never ko pa silang nakita.
