"Do you think it looks good?" asked Ayaka looking at herself in the mirror trying a new dresses.
You hummed in response. Your head was all over the place today. All you could think about was Heizou. And not only because this man had a grip on you but also because of what you've learned yesterday.
"Are you okay, today, y/n?"
You looked at your friend and smiled.
"Yes, yes I am, don't-"
You shut your mouth immediately. Heizou was not so far away from you and Ayaka, discussing with two people. He was probably here for a case, but you didn't want to see him before you could have this conversation with him. So the best idea you've got and probably the most childish was to hide behind Ayaka.
"Dont. Move."
"Y/n what are you doing?"
"Don't worry about me."
"You're hiding behind me, so yes, I am a little worried."
You sighed and explained to her.
"There's Heizou not so far away and I don't want to see him."
"What? Why?" said Ayaka who used to remember you being down for this man not so long ago. She didn't know you two were now together and neither did she know about the whole flirt story with Rin.
"Long story..." you whispered.
"Well, bad news for you, he is coming to us."
"WHAT?"
You checked and indeed, your boyfriend was coming to Ayaka. You quickly turned around and pretend to be a random customer looking for clothes.
"Hello, miss Kamisato, hello Ogura Mio. I have some questions for you."
Just hearing his voice made you melt like a popcicle under the sun. Oh Archons, how much you loved the tone of his voice.
You immediately hit your forehead with your hand. Right now was not the time for simping on your boyfriend. You were supposed to avoid him. They started talking about the missing person and the closed ones. Nothing came out of it, neither Ayaka or Mio had information. After a while of pretending to be a random customer, Heizou finally noticed you.
"Excuse me, I have some questions for... you... y/n?"
You froze. He was now facing you, you didn't even see him coming.
"Um..."
"It's nice to see you here, my dear."
You sighed. It was useless to hide from him anyway. You'll have to talk to him sooner or later, so why not now?
"Actually, I have some questions for you." you said in a serious tone, which caught him off guard.
"O-Oh, sure. What's wrong?"
"Not here."
You dragged him away from people and went in more quiet place.
"Is everything alright, dear?"
"Umm... I... how do I put that... I..."
"Take your time, my love." he said with a smile.
You melt at the sudden nickname. He definitely knew what he was doing and it was driving you crazy.
"S-Stop, now's not the time, I'm very... very angry!"
"You look cute like that" he chuckled.
You hit his torso with your fist and tried not to blush (it didn't work).
"Stop I said! I'm angry!"
"Okay, okay, tell me what's wrong... love."
You sighed but tried to ignore the cute nickname.
"I talked with a girl during the kamisato dinner and... and she told you and her had... something going on."
By the look on his face you could tell he was quite surprise.
"Well, that's new. I don't remember having a relationship with someone since a years."
"No, not a relationship... a... a "flirt"."
"O...kay?" he said, still confused.
"Rin. A Shrine Maiden. Does it bell any rings?"
He seemed in deep thoughts.
"Oh, her..."
"Yes her!"
Suddenly he satrted laughing out of nowhere.
"What?"
"Are you having... a jealousy crisis?"
"Don't laugh!"
He couldn't stop laughing which made lose your temper. Not because it drove you mad, but you used to love his laugh.
"Okay. Serious now." he then said, stopping his laugh. "y/n, darling, that was a moment ago, I didn't even know you before. I don't why she still talk about it, but there was nothing between us."
Now you felt stupid. Of course you were jealous, but how not to be when your ex used to flirt with a lot of girls in front of you. Yopu thought Heizou would happen to be the same. Or... perhaps you hoped for it? Perhaps you hoped he would be like that and you would break up and you would go back to your depression state. Why? Well, perhaps you were afraid to be happy. Perhaps you noticed that Heizou was a good guy and that real happiness would come your way, but you were afraid of it. Because what if it just lasts for a few second? What if it isn't what you hoped for? What if your mask went off and people will realize who you really are and don't like this personality of yours?
"Hey, is someone here?" said your boyfriend, snapping his fingers in front of you.
"Sorry, I.; zoned out..."
Heizou approached you and held your cheeks in his hands.
"You're the only one that matters to me, I swear to the Archons that was months ago."
You smiled to him. You believed him. You needed to accept that he was probably the one, and that happiness was copming. Maybe you could talk to him about your fear. He would reassure you and would help you to overcome them. Cause that's just who he is. The perfect guy.
