The hunger games begin, Eret and Nikki beginning to fight Tubbo and Sapnap immediately. Swords clash and blood pools to the ground, Nikki slicing Sapnap's head clean off. Tubbo makes an ill-attempt to escape, falling to the clutches of Eret just like the previous L'manburg betrayal.

While that was occurring, Tommy made a dash for the cornucopia. A spear was peeking out from the middle, and he was able to get it just in time. With his powerful weapon, he was able to flee the scene. Still, he wished that he'd gotten food and water along with that spear.

An unlikely set of four, Punz, Dream, Fundy, and Wilbur set their differences aside and split up their resources. There was strength in numbers and supplies. They had food, water, a tent, and two knives that would suffice as basic weapons. It wouldn't last them long, maybe three days amongst the four, but that was a lot longer than some of the other people would be living. Two cannon fires shot into the sky, Tubbo and Sapnap already out of the game; but there was no time to mourn the dead... the game was just beginning.

When Tommy heard the cannon fire he whipped around and gazed at the blue sky, two faces were spread across the sky...Sapnap's and Tubbo's. He felt devastated at the loss of such a close friend, but his death also fueled him; fueled him to win and avenge his ill-fated friend. I was off to the side watching all the chaos ensue below me; I was one of the more logical ones and so I chose to leave the Cornucopia to escape its terrors and surplus of bloodshed. I watched as Tommy ran through the forest attempting to escape and find a safe hiding spot. I had stopped watching him when he had disappeared from my sight and into the amazing greenery.

I looked up to the quickly darkening sky and noticed I must have been in the tree much longer than I thought I was. As this epiphany had dawned on me I noticed that my bottom hurt a lot from sitting on hard wood. I jumped out of the tree and began to run far away from the Cornucopia, stuck to the shadows as I slunk around in the bushes. I saw light, perhaps it was fireflies! Thinking about where I was though; it was probably people. I peeked out of the bushes and curiously looked at the clearing I had come across; in the clearing was a young man who was picking flowers and braiding them into his hair. He had somewhat pale skin and forest green eyes; his hair was blond to the point it almost looked white. He wore a deep green hoodie and black detachable pants

I was entranced by his eyes to the point that I didn't notice that he was staring at me with wide eyes until he cleared his throat, "Why...um...why are you here? Are you planning on killing me?"

I jumped at the sound of his voice and quickly shook my head, "No! No! Not at all! I just stumbled upon you..."

He looked at me, his eyes filled with suspicion and he quickly put out the fire he had going. The man furrowed his brow as he grabbed a bow and arrow that he must have picked up from the Cornucopia and pointed it at me, "I'm sure you're lying, you must have found me because of the smoke! Drop your weapons!"

I held up my hands and quickly responded, "I have no weapons, I promise! I didn't take anything from the Cornucopia or from the dead contestants!"

The man's eyes were sorrowful as I mentioned the now dead contestants, "Good...good...I'd be absolutely furious if you did."

I softly asked, "Did you know one of them...?"

He seemed deep in thought before his eyes had freezed over and he coldly said, "No."

"Oh," I replied simply, "I didn't really know them either. Uh, did you wanna team up for a little while? I don't have any matches and I know the other lot are already teamed up."

"Fine by me," He muttered, "But don't get too comfortable. I'm going to look out for the others camp up in that tree over there," He pointed at a tall pine-tree, "Your welcome to join."

"That's okay," I was deathly afraid of heights, "Just tell me what you see when you come down." I still didn't know his name, so I quickly added, "What is your name again?"

"Dream," He replied, "I saw you at training, Y/n right?" I nodded my head, and began to climb the conifer. The wind was blowing and shaking the branches wildly, but he was still able to scout. He then came down after a couple of minutes.

"Eret is fishing, and that Fundy kid is just wandering around looking tense. Wilbur might have seen the smoke, since he looked in our direction. Otherwise I don't see Punz, Tommy, or Nikki."

"Fair enough," I tried to make conversation, "I heard they're letting two tributes win this year. We're from the same district, so maybe-"

"Maybe," Dream finished my sentence, "All I know is that I'm not dying here. There's too much to live for."

The two of us huddled around the remaining embers of the fire and tried to keep warm. Sleep was hard to come by, but eventually we both drifted off. The first official day would be tomorrow, and it was clearly on both of our minds,

Dream awoke from an awful nightmare early in the morning, and he was able to catch a fish for breakfast. While we were eating, a cannonshot rang into the sky, Punz's face soon following. A solemn look flashed across my friends face, and then he went back to his normal, more serious attire.

Around mid-afternoon, the two of us were sharpening rocks to put on sticks as weapons when two more shots went into the sky. People were dying a lot faster than I thought they would-

Both Nihachu and Tommy were dead, the sky turning into their once-happy faces. I felt a small pang in my heart; me and Tommy got along before the games began. Dream said nothing, and the second cold night would soon come.

Dream left to find resources while I stayed back and guarded the camp. My hands were turning numb, and I wished that he wasn't leaving so late in the day. A full moon casted light onto the trees, illuminating the frosty air. Once two hours had passed, I began to get worried. No cannonfires had occurred yet, so I at least knew Dream wasn't dead. Then again, there were things worse than death.

I wanted to stay at the camp but I knew it wasn't really a good idea to stay idle for long unless I wanted to end up like my friend. I hopped up from the stump I was sitting on and carefully threaded through the forest until I reached a small lake. I reached my hands into the water; it was cold and the look of it was enticing but then I noticed the water was perfectly still. I took my hands out of the contaminated water and slumped back. I had sat there for a while until I heard rustling and I saw a short boy run out of the forest. He looked young, maybe around twelve and he had hair the color of perhaps a navel orange and he wore an oversized black coat that covered almost all of his tiny body.

The small boy had his arm all bandaged up so he would be easy to take down, but did I really want to kill such a young kid? Especially when he was wounded and defenseless I don't think I could forgive myself if I did...I decided to keep back in the bush and let nature take its course. If the boy died because of the water then he died and it wouldn't be my fault. Natural selection, right? I wish that I agreed with that thought; but unfortunately my morals got in the way and I jumped up from the bushes, "Hey kid don't drink that!"

The kid whipped around to look at me and calmly said, "Why?"

I looked at him with wide eyes and yelled, "It's still that means it's contaminated! Did you not learn anything from training!?!"

The child's fox-like ears twitched and he tilted his head, "Huh? I didn't do much in the training, I just did the cool stuff! My papa said that he was going to care for me anyways!"
