5th year at Hogwarts...

After last year I wasn't sure If I wanted to come back. Father told me I had to represent the family, Hogwarts was the best school for witchcraft and wizardry, and being able to say you attend this school gave families the utmost respect. My family was always respected, so it only gave me more reason to be perfect. When the Dark Lord interfered with the games last year all teachers were on their toes, waiting for the day they would have to fight for the students. It's a bit funny because once disaster strikes, they won't have time to stop it. By "It" I mean..Me. Father told me I must do what the Dark Lord said, or my family will be in danger. I listened, and now I'm going back to Hogwarts. The school where all disasters happen.

There It was, The Hogwarts Express. The train that took me to my doom. As I stepped out of the car Father placed a rather tightening grip on my arm, then proceeded to wrap his arms around me as if he was giving me a hug, but in reality, he was holding me close enough so he could whisper something in my ear.

"Draco, Listen to me closely. You are to do what the Dark Lord tells you. If not, you know what he will do. Do not get distracted."

Father released me and took a couple of steps back; he gave me a stare indicating he was waiting for my answer. "Yes Father"

"Ah very good my boy, make us proud!" It sent chills down my back the way he suddenly had switched deminers. I entered the train and made my way to my cart. As I sat down, I looked out my window to see my father was still staring at me with a look that had a thousand words laced in it. I turned my head away from my father, not wanting to be reminded of the task. After a while, Pansy and Blaise had a seat in the booth.

"Oh, Hello Draco!" Pansy said with a wide smile.

"Pansy, will you stop smiling like that, you'll scare him off."

Blaise and I laughed at the comment made while Pansy sat there with her arms crossed.

"It wasn't even that funny guys."

We continued to talk for a bit, then we heard people gossiping amongst themselves.

"Is he really back?"

"Omg is..You know who back?

"Harry said he SAW him kill Cedric."

"What if Harry killed Cedric..."

"Harry did survive the killing curse...what if he did something to Cedric."

All of the gossip was starting to make my head hurt. Not only from people all talking at once but from the knowledge that the Dark Lord is indeed back. I laid my head back hoping for it all to stop.

*TIME SKIP* (HOGWARTS STATION)

I stir awake after Hagrid keep yelling that we had arrived. I stepped off the train with Pansy and Blaise not too far behind me. I looked around and caught a glimpse of some girl staring at me. Before I could even tell her to 'eff off she turned her head and began walking fast. 'What was that?' I thought. I shook it off, I had other things to be worrying about. We all walked up to the castle like we did every year. After a long walk, we arrived in the great hall. As usual, we watched the first years be sorted into houses, we got a good handful of Slytherins which was great for us. I clapped for every Slytherin that was sorted, as I was watching them come sit at our table, I saw her again. She was laughing and talking to other first-years in line. It looks like she was also being sorted. She began to walk to the Sorting hat; she sat down, and the hat began to talk.

"A bit older are we- OH, wow! The great great great and may more greats -granddaughter of Merlin himself!" The whole hall went silent upon hearing who she was related to. "Hmmm, you're just like your grandfather, you could belong in many different houses. Which house do you think you would be in?" She whispered something to the hat, something no one could hear. "Ah-Ha of course! You would do great things in this house; you had a legacy to fulfill, don't you?" She nodded as the hat talked. "Well, it has been decided, Valentina Merlin, you will be in.....SLYTHERIN"

Our house erupted in cheers knowing that the grandaughter of Merlin was sorted into our house. She walked over at sat a couple of spaces near me.

"So, are you a first year?" A 6th year Slytherin asked

She laughed "No, I'm a 5th year. I recently transferred to Hogwarts."

She was bright, she made everyone smile and laugh. Even the people I know never smile.

Pansy being the girl she is, introduced her to half of the table, but when she called my name I stayed silent. Pansy rolled her eyes "Don't mind him, Valentina, he's just sulking because he is no longer the strongest wizard in Slytherin" The table erupted in chuckles, I just ignored everyone and looked down at the table waiting for the feast to appear, but I felt her staring at me which was very weird, I tried to ignore her as best as I could. Dumbledore began his yearly speech, and when he was done food was brought to the tables. We all had our loads full before having to head back to our houses.

I pushed my way past other Slytherins to reach the Dormitory door, "Pure Blood". The door was soon revealed after the password was spoken. Once I walked in, there were crowds around the new girl, the great great, and how many more greats- granddaughter of Merlin himself.

"Are you really Merlin's Granddaughter?"

"Wow, that's so cool!"

"Are you powerful like him?"

"Show us something impressive!"

"Why did you transfer to Hogwarts"

All these questions along noise were bloody ticking me off. I couldn't stand it anymore. I stood up in the middle of the common room,

"HEY-" Everyone went quiet for a split second. "Can you all take your fangirling somewhere far away? There's some of us who prefer it to be quiet and not have to deal with all of you." I stood there waiting for a response from anyone. Soon a fellow 5th year spoke up-

"Don't mind him, Valentina, He's too short-tempered to be anywhere"

You could soon hear faint chuckles coming from parts of the room. Valentina stepped up and past the 5th year and began walking towards me.

"It's quite alright, I'm sure Mr. Malfoy has his reasons for being as grumpy as he is." She finally took two more steps before meeting my gaze. "Hey, Malfoy, if you don't like noise there's a thing called dorm rooms, as well as earplugs, don't ruin everyone's fun just because you don't know how to have a laugh every now and then" She walked back towards her group, all eyes were on her, Mouths were also dropped. Everyone couldn't believe she had just stepped up to me, THE Draco Malfoy. My blood boiled as she walked away, I grabbed Crabb and Goyle and we left for our dorms.
