I was perhaps the most basic bitch you could meet. I had normal h/c hair and had gotten a scholarship to a prestigious university. However, I haven't gotten the motivation to pass lately. I honestly don't know why I haven't lost my scholarship yet. Anyways, this morning I woke up to the sun shining onto my face, the birds chirping outside my window, and angels singing, their vibrant voices piercing the air with emotion. Everything was perfectly perfect.

Except it wasn't. It was just a dream and it was VERY rudely interrupted by the annoying beeping of my alarm clock. I rubbed my eyes and rolled to my right, trying to get comfortable. Unfortunately for me, there wasn't any bed next to me and I fell down onto the floor with a loud 'oomph.' I groaned and rubbed my backside, grudgingly getting up in order to start my morning.

Once I got dressed, I walked downstairs to see my roommate, a blonde girl named Rebecca, making some scrambled eggs at the stove. I carefully made my way towards the door, praying that she wouldn't notice me. Unfortunately for me, I accidentally stepped on a notoriously creaky floorboard and she perked up, gazing at me.

"What are you doing?" Rebecca asked snarkily, eyeing me up and down. Her eyes flickered menacingly. Not for the first time, I noticed that her eyes were a fiery red and I always assumed that it was because she was basically the devil herself. However, Rebecca kept on insisting that they were contacts, but I had my reasons to doubt her.

"Um... Going outside to check the mail...??"

"Whatever you say bitch." she muttered, rolling her eyes. "You better be back in five minutes."

I rolled my eyes back at her and walked over to the door, opening it. Looking down onto my doorstep, I found an envelope that had my name and address written on it in flowing cursive script. I picked it up and quickly ran back to the house, shutting the door behind me and running up the stairs so Rebecca wouldn't ask me what the letter was about and be all nosy.

I jumped onto my bed and laid down, opening up the envelope to reveal a letter, once again written in beautiful cursive lettering.

"You came here once before now it's time to return once more to greet old faces y/n.
-S+R"

'S and R??? Who the fuck is that??' I thought to myself. I get up and look out the window but no one's there. 'Strange,' I said out loud to myself. As I walked to my bed, I wondered who S and R could be. Then it hit me.

'Rebecca's name starts with an R. This is probably some dumb prank that she pulled.' I thought to myself. Suddenly, there was a loud noise and I sat up looking around. There was a book on the floor near my bookshelves; I assumed it had fallen off. I got back up to pick up the book and glanced at the title. It was called 'Kingdom Hearts' and had a burgundy cover, with a gold floral pattern around the edges. "Like the kids game??? There wasn't a book written about it though." I mutter to myself, studying the cover more closely. This time, I noticed two boys on the cover with... I do a quick retake.

"Is that me when I was younger???" I pick up the book and place it on my bed. 'Why am I on the cover??' I look back and quickly realize that it was now glowing, glowing a bright sunshine yellow that would've blinded most people but it didn't seem to blind me. In fact, I actually kind of liked looking at it. "What..." I opened up the book and gasped, as black creatures poured out, filling the air with a mysterious aura. It seemed like the day had turned into night and I panicked, muttering to myself "I've fucked up...."

I tried pushing my way through the creatures to close the book but in fact, the creatures pushed me towards it and I fell onto the book, feeling my soul being sucked up. It was like someone was holding a ginormous vacuum cleaner above me and put it on full blast. A wind scented with vanilla blew around me, making my clothes twirl and dance on me.

Then it stopped.

And before me, laid an island. An island that somehow felt familiar to me.
