The next morning, I woke up to see my computer still on, the call still open.
"Shit," I whispered, realizing I had fallen asleep. I hoped we weren't having an important conversation.
My eyes widened further when I saw that Yeonjun was asleep on the other end.
He looked so... calm, peaceful. His cheek smushed into the pillow, his lips in a little pout and his hair in his face.
I smiled widely at the sight of him, flicking off my mic so I wouldn't wake him with my noise.
Alia would be up in 10 minutes, so I made myself breakfast, leftovers from the night before, and went back to my room with the computer. I didn't want to leave when Yeonjun stayed on the whole night. I turned my camera off, getting dressed in high waisted baggy jeans and a loose t-shirt tucked into the waistband.
I heard a small noise come from the call and flicked my camera back on so he knew I was still there.
Yeonjun blinked his eyes open, running a hand through his hair before taking a glance at his phone. His face broke into a wide, dazed smile upon seeing me. "Morning, Ada. I thought you would've left once you woke up," he said.
I looked away to hide the blush crawling up my cheeks at the sound of his voice. "I figured it'd be impolite, considering you stayed on the whole night."
He laughed, sitting up in his bed. "It was kinda cute, how you fell asleep. Anyways, I need to get ready for work and get Jiho ready for school, so I probably need to say goodbye now..."
I sighed. "Yeah, me too. Alia'll wake up any moment now. I-" I paused. "I really enjoyed talking to you. I'll see you tomorrow, I guess?" Yeonjun nodded. "Alright. Good luck at the wedding today! Bye."
He grinned at me. "Bye sijag."
I left the call, mind spinning, and laid back on my bed. After a few moments, I cleared my thoughts of Yeonjun almost completely and got up, entering Alia's room to wake her up.
"Oh!" I jumped, surprised to see her already dressed. "You're up already??"
"Yeah, you're late. By like ten minutes." She looked at me with the kind of disappointed face only a five year old could make. "Why?"
I rolled my eyes at her. "Cause. I was on a call with Yeonjun making plans for your playdate with Jiho!" I poked at her arm. "Which, by the way, is tomorrow." I bowed. "No need to thank me."
She laughed, taking me by the hand and pulling me to the kitchen for breakfast. "Thanks Mama. Now, hurry up or I'll be late for school!"
I sighed at her actions, making her breakfast, mind drifting back to my call with Yeonjun.
Alia waved a hand in front of my face. "Mom? You good?"
I nodded, snapping out of my slight daze and moving her hand from my face. "Yeah, why do you ask?"
"You seem a little distracted. I mean, I don't know if you've started putting our milk in the orange juice carton, but if you have it, I'm not sure I want orange juice in my cheerios," Alia commented. I looked down at my hands.
"Crap, I'm sorry," I whispered, dumping out the bowl of cereal in the trash with a sigh and starting anew.
Alia giggled at me. "What's on your mind, Mama?" she asked.
I rolled my eyes playfully, handing her the fresh bowl of cereal, this time with milk in it. "None of your business."
"I wanna know!!" she whined, shoveling a spoon of cheerios into her mouth.
