Command and Fear

As Liam headed downstairs to began prepping his school lunch for the day and to eat breakfast, he saw his mother at her desk, it was a usual occurrence, she worked hard to provide for her family, sure she had been one to mock her son's name and gender but he loved her.As well as he loved his siblings.Liam quickly made his way into the kitchen, and began weaving around his little two sisters, both witches who stared at their older brother with nothing but a hostile expression written clearly on their faces. "Hello Angelica and Lily" he said finally, turning away to focus on his current task, preparing his lunch, Lily snickered and yanked on Liam's tail, sending a shock up his body.He whipped around with his teeth barred into a snarl,just then, the man he feared most appeared behind the two children. "What do you think you're doing mutt?" He questioned in a deep and threatening tone, Liam stumbled for words, trying to make a sentence that wouldn't land him in more trouble. "Speak,now or I swear I'll put your head in the fucking wall" he screamed, sending Liam into even more of a panic, the young wolf backed into a counter as his stepfather reached for his arm. "I- they pulled my tail and it hurt!" He cried, he didn't want to be punished for not being able to answer probably, but it seemed like everytime he was asked a question now-a-days, he seemed to be taking longer and longer to respond. "Quit lying, girls what'd he do?" His stepfather asked, turning to Angelica and Lily. "We just bumped into him!" Lily said, she looked like she was scared stiff. "Yea! Then he bared his teeth!" Angelica added, smirking at her brother.Liam's ears flattened against his head as he stepfather looked to him again. "Why'd you lie mutt?" He growled. Liam could feel the panic welling up inside him, like a river that flooded the banks and burst free over the lands. "I didn't lie!" Liam exclaimed. The tall man shook his head and led the two witches away. "I don't have time for this" was all Liam heard as they walked out. He checked the time, realizing he only had a few moments to be ready before he had to leave for school, he scrambled, tossing his lunch together and into his backpack, he slipped in his shoes as his siblings were heading to the door.A dark haired wolf stood beside Kira. "move Nigel! We're gonna be late!" The wolf-witch said as he tried to pass.Nigel simply shrugged and headed down the stairs,followed by Kira and then Liam. "Have a good day, we love you!" The trio's mother called as they exited the door. "And we're proud of you Nigel and Kira!" The man added. Liam couldn't taste anything but the bitter tang of hurt on his tounge as he shut the door,and headed to school.
