Rarg looked over at her.
Eldra nodded at him "Nice fountain, huh?" He simply blinked and said "Yes." She frowned "Did you understand me?" "Yes. Me...no nothing say." She nodded and looked away "You know, we got a snow forecast." Rarg smiled "Winter season." Eldra leaned back and laughed "I thought this place stayed hot all year round." "No. Back...old...life, we have flowers. So pretty. For twice days in year, we...flowers."
She grinned "Like real, true flowers? Not nether wart?"
He nodded. Then quietly said "Red. Orange. Yellow. Black. All color, wither rose with fireblooms."
His voice shook.
Then he looked away "Me wish stay long enough to see flowers."
She frowned "You didn't have to leave." Rarg looked at her steadily and said "Me no monster. No real monster. But...Me no want become one, no." Eldra blinked "That's...you left because of that?" Rarg gave her a sad smile. "Me love home. Me fought for home once. But now home...not home. Me unsafe. And...me scared."
She frowned "So...what did Enderstar do, anyways? I never quite got that story."
Rarg barked out a sharp laugh "He told me kill mad skeleton. In sleep, he say. Make accident look, he say. Mad skeleton detrimental to regime. So mad skeleton to him get no live anymore." Eldra froze "Is that why he hates you?" "I no know. But he reporter. He must ways of finding that." "Wait, Batwing was a reporter?" "Yes, he write many things. Politics, most of it. Mad skeleton man make things about...blink man...and...well, come me."
Eldra shook her head. "Then how's he still alive?"
Rarg looked down.
"Me couldn't...me couldn't do it. Me just think...well, he no crime. He no bad person. He be nice to me. He...should no death." Eldra nodded quietly "Enderstar was fine?" "No, he mad, but...he know. He just know. He hate me after that, me learn about a hit on me...and so me have to leave home." Then he looked up at Eldra, who was shaken.
"Scary blink man is bad man. Know that."
And with that, he hopped up and walked away.
