Hannah sat alone in her dark, silent apartment, the weight of the world heavy on her shoulders. Everything in her life seemed to be falling apart. She had lost her job, her boyfriend had left her, and she was struggling to pay her bills.
She had no friends or family nearby, and she felt completely alone in the world. Hannah had always prided herself on being strong and independent, but now she felt like she was drowning.
Days turned into weeks, and Hannah barely left her apartment. She spent her days in bed, staring at the ceiling, feeling numb and hopeless. She had no motivation to do anything, to even try to make things better.
As the weeks turned into months, Hannah's situation only grew worse. She stopped eating, stopped sleeping, stopped caring. She had no reason to live, no hope for the future.
One night, Hannah found herself standing on the edge of her apartment building's rooftop, staring down at the empty streets below. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and stepped forward.
But in that split second before she hit the ground, a memory flashed through her mind - a moment of happiness from her past, when she had felt loved and alive. It was just a flicker, but it was enough to make Hannah hesitate.
In that moment, she realized that she didn't want to die. She wanted to live, to fight, to try to make things better. And so she stepped back from the edge, took a deep breath, and walked back to her apartment.
It wasn't easy, but Hannah started taking small steps to improve her life. She got a new job, made some new friends, started taking care of herself. It was a slow and difficult process, but with time, she started to feel like herself again.
Hannah knew that life would never be perfect, but she also knew that she had the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead. And for the first time in a long time, she felt a glimmer of hope for the future.
