JENNIE

I can't explain the feeling. But I do know that I have been staring at her for too long because she is now starting to walk to my direction. The pretty soldier.

And I am 'pretty' sure she is coming my way.

How do I know? You ask.

Well, she is definitely looking at me while walking, she must've thought that I'm a weird girl.

I look the other way to hide.

Oh no! What if she's not into girls and she's coming to tell me to stop staring. That is going to be so embarrassing.

What am I even doing, staring at a girl when I'm not even into girls myself.

"Ehem.." She cleared her throat to make her presence known.

"Miss?" I turn to look at her after she tap my shoulder, trying to get my attention.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I had to ask. Were you looking at me earlier?" Please, I am already too embarrassed.

"I mean, I already know you were, but, may I ask why?" She continues, since I wasn't saying anything. I don't know where my tongue has gone.

I sigh and gathered my courage to talk. I can't just look at her all night. I might freak her out and make her leave. And I get the feeling, I wouldn't want that. So here goes...

"I'm really sorry for staring. I just.. you're so pretty." I said shyly.

"I've never been this interested in a girl before, to be honest." I continued.

"That's fine, I also find you really pretty. That's actually why I decided to say 'Hi'." she replies, sensing that she is also a bit shy.

Well atleast we feel the same way. It couldv'e been a disaster if she came to tell me to 'fuck off'.

Silence.. Too awkward.. Please say somehing else.

"I'm Lisa, by the way. You?" She introduces. Lisa.. she also has a pretty name.

Oh come on Jennie, what is happening to you.

"The name's Jennie. Nice to meet you, Lisa." I said, accepting her hand and shake it.

"Nice to meet you, Jennie. Uhh, do you mind if I ask you to have coffee with me?" Lisa offers. She has a pretty smile too, what am I gonna do?

"Now? Sure!" Ughhh, was that too enthusiatic?

"Okay Let's Go!" She says smiling widely.

Well she doesn't seem turned off so far.

She lead us out of the restobar and into the cafe accross the street.

We settled on the table by the window and ordered. After a few minutes the waiter was already serving our coffee.

Surprisingly it wasn't really hard to converse with her. I mean, I don't really talk much but when it comes to her, words just come out of me as natural as breathing.

She's also very nice, and she knows how to open another topic if she feels that it is becoming a little awkward already.

We got to know a little about each other and didn't notice we've been talking for hours already. We only noticed when the waiter announced they were about to close the shop soon.

We kind of got kicked out of the cafe.

Just kidding. The staff were all really nice.

We were inseparable, we went for a walk while talking and got to know each other more. Until we decided it is time for us both to go home.

I guess I should let her rest now. She told me she just got off duty earlier and went straight to the restobar after reporting to her superior. She also said she wanted to have some fun before she goes home tomorrow to her parents' house.

She is staying at a nearby hotel for the night and then off to her parents tomorrow afternoon.

I don't want to say goodbye yet, but I have to.

I have to do something before she leaves. This can't just end here.

I feel something about this, something good. Whatever this is. So I have to make sure we stay connected.

As I was about to ask her for her number.

"Jennie?" she starts nervously.

"Yeah?" I replied expectantly. Please ask for my number. Please.

"I know it's too early. But I feel different when I'm with you. I've never had this excitement inside me before. I'm sorry if I'm too forward and if this is too soon, but you know that I'm leaving tomorrow and I might not see you again and regret if I do not ask you this." she's blabbering, it's cute. I hid my smile, lowering my head, biting my nails.

"Can I, by any chance, get your number? To stay connected. I enjoy talking to you and I want see you again someday or sometime soon." she's really cute.

I didn't answer her and just took the phone she's holding, ready to get my number.

I put my number and dialed it then gave it back to her.

My phone rang, I answered it, put it on my ear and said "Hey, pretty soldier." she smiles and pressed something on her phone then turned it off.

"I gotta go now, Jennie. Thank you for this." She says still smiling widely, holding up her phone, thanking me for giving her my number.

Well, she just beat me to it, I was ready to ask for hers.

"Bye, Lisa. Goodnight." I say shyly.

"Goodnight, Jen." Aaaaand she already has a nickname for me. Again, cute.

We part ways, with me smiling like an idiot.

I hope she calls me before she leaves tomorrow.
