Chapter 2 -Crimson eyes-

I awoke to the sun shining into my eyes.

"KUNIKUZUSHI WAKE UP. IT'S ALREADY PAST 12" My mother was yelling at me from the kitchen. Past 12? No wonder I feel energized.

I hopped out of bed and looked my mirror. I saw a young man with Indigo hair, Midnight blue eyes, and rosy cheeks. Ew I rolled my eyes and left towards the kitchen.

"Finally your awake" my mother said as she flipped a pancake checking to see if she burnt it "Ugh. Another that's burnt" she groaned turning off the stove.

"This is why you don't cook" I sat at the table looking at my phone making sure there are no new messages. "KUNI! I'M NOT THAT BAD AT COOKING!" She looked at me in shock and tried to look affected by my words.

I just ignored her seeing that someone had posted a new video on YikYok about the band 6reeze saying:

"6reeze now renamed themselves to 5wirl after finding out that their lead singer Faruzan blackmailed them"

"Darn I guess it is true" I hid my phone and spun around to see my sister Mona staring over my shoulder. "geez what is there to hide? I also have YikYok y'know?" she went around the table to her spot.

"I feel like auditioning to be their new lead singer" she said while daydreaming. I gaped at her "MONA THAT'S A TERRIBLE IDEA" She looked at me confused then realized what I meant." I'm a siren I can just eat them if they find out!" Mona looked proud for saying that.

I slammed my head on the table "Mona your not a siren.. you took after Ei's genes." She glanced a Ei who nodded her head at her while placing the plates on the table. "Oh Right- your the siren." She giggled to herself and I stared at her.

I looked back down at my phone and scrolled down to the next video. It was again about 5wirl.

"5wirl is letting people audition to be the lead singer! Sign up at their main building to see if you might be the lucky person!"

I groaned turning off my phone to see Mona smiling at me. "What?" She leaned closer to me " maybe you should try to get the role? Your voice is very beautiful and you might even end up being famous" she sat back waiting for my answer. "Mhm in your dreams." She lightly hit me on the shoulder "oh come on~ it'll be fun! Imagine your face all over Tokyo! People will love you"

I mean she isn't wrong. As soon as I get the role people with cameras will be following me around everywhere I go. Taking pictures of me and everything I do. I shivered at the thought.

"No thank you. I'd rather keep my privacy and not have people chasing after me every day. Plus we are the only ones in Tokyo with this hair, they'll know exactly who we are and as soon as they do, we'll be seeing devil's in hell because WE WILL GET KILLED" I couldn't believe she would be so stupid to even bring that up. She stared at me turning to her food probably thinking about how stupid her idea was.

Time skip

I stood from the table and thanked Ei for the terrible meal she cooked. I grabbed my phone and went upstairs to my room.

I feel like going out to the lake today... I went to my closet and chose out some clothes to wear.

When I was ready I stood infront of my mirror and brushed out
my hair putting on red eyeliner since it's what I always do. I look terrible but I won't be hanging out with people anyways.

I went downstairs and told Ei that I'm going out. " Ok dear. Just don't go in the water" she gently kissed my forehead and hugged me.

I wiped the kiss off and turned away "I wasn't planning to."

I left the house and stood outside. It was so different since the last time I was out here.

The trees that were once saplings are now fully grown trees with people laughing and playing underneath them. Kids are walking around with phones texting other friends.

So much has changed in the last 300 years.

I sighed and started to head towards the lake. I was humming a song and staring down at my feet, why? My mother has always told me that I am a mirror image of my father and people will recognize me as soon as they see my face.

You might be wondering, why do people hate my father so much? Well. As soon as humans found out that he can lour them in with only his voice and then eat them alive, they went after him and hung him infront of the entire city, infront of me.. the one who inherited his genes. The one who is exactly like him.. the one who can do the exact thing.. the one who will get revenge..

That's why my mother always told me to wear a mask or never go outside any longer. Well I couldn't find my mask so I chose to just stare at the ground while walking there.

As I was walking I was hearing whispers all around me, hoping that it's not about me I started to walk faster to get to the lake quicker. Turns out it was a bad idea since I then bumped into someone standing infront of me.

"I'M SO SORRY. ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" I looked up to see a young boy around my age holding his hand out to me.

He had dark teal hair with green ends. He was standing with three other people. One with long blonde hair and dark hazel eyes. The other had brown hair with a reddish-pinkish tone and green eyes. And the last had hair similar to the one I bumped into but shorter and darker.

5WIRL? but where's the 5th...

I came to my senses and pushed Venti's hand away, getting up and running away from there before they recognize me.

I finally arrived down by the entrance to the lake. Luckily I hid a role of caution tape and signs to keep people from entering while I'm there.

I went down by the lake and swirled my hand in the water breathing in the fresh air. I sat on a rock close to the trees and looked far into the horizon.

I began to sing a song which my father always sung to me when I was I little kid with no problems and no fear.

I felt free out here. No walls to hold me in. No people that might kill me. Just harmony around me.

I then heard rustling in the bushes near where I was sitting and quickly ran to the other side.

A young boy came out from the trees. He had albino hair with a vermilion streak and crimson red eyes that where staring out onto the water full of wonder not noticing me.

He suddenly glanced in my direction and it was like he was staring straight at me.

I gasped and had no choice but to jump onto the water. Hopping that he didn't see me there.

I sunk down panting for air. That was too close. I stayed down in the water swimming around looking at the coral and fish swimming by me.

Sometimes I loved being a siren, I could just swim freely breathing like I would breathe on land and the speed that my tail gives is fantastic. But I hated how people are always hunting us down, it's to the point where I feel like the last one like this.

I waited until the strange boy left until I finally came back up to the surface. Who was he?

I couldn't help but glance to where he came from. I want to see him again...
