MOOD - Angst-ish
Rantaro sat down in the water drenched grass with half-lidded eyes. The rain poured down hard on his head, soaking his beautiful, green hair. Even if the rain was going to leave him sopping wet, he enjoyed sitting in the rain like this. As much as it made his mascara flow down his warm, rosy red cheeks, it's all he could ever wish for. The noises of the rain pounding against the grass around him finally gave him a chance to relax. A smile covered his moist face along with the rain. Settings like this always assured him that everything was going to be alright...
Kaito walked out of the well-lit house, searching for Rantaro on the porch of the house.
"Taro!" He shouted over the loud rain pouring down from the grey clouds in the night sky.
"Taro, dude! Where are ya?!" Kaito asked whoever may be near. He assumed that Rantaro couldn't have gone too far by himself. It didn't seem like him at all.
Rantaro turned his head around to face the house. He stared at Kaito for a moment before responding to him in a calm yet raised voice.
"Ah, I'm over here."
Kaito locked eyes with Rantaro's dim figure. The light contrasted between the two boys. The light and the dark...
Soon enough, Kaito ran off the porch and into the rain. He sat down next to Rantaro with a smile.
"What'cha doing outside so late? Why come out here like this, ya might catch a cold, y'know!" The taller male asked as he cocked his head to the side.
"Ah... I just needed a moment to collect my thoughts in a more.. isolated place, hm?" Rantaro responded, staring into the dark horizon. He could see a few house lights turned on in the near distance.
"Well, why not choose the living room? It's pretty quiet in there! At least I'd say so." Kaito questioned Rantaro once again.
"By the time I got downstairs, Saihara-kun was reading a book on the couch. Even if I *were* to sit down in the silence, it almost feels.. awkward doing such a thing, so I thought that I might as well come out here." Rantaro looked at Kaito once more.
"Well, why don't you-" Kaito was cut off as someone opened the door to the house.
"Amami-kun?! Are you out there?!" Shuichi asked in an unusually raised voice.
"Saihara-kun?" Rantaro stood up, and so did Kaito.
"Aay, sidekick!" He waved to Shuichi.
Shuichi ignored Kaito, keeping his eyes locked on Rantaro.
"What are you doing out here? It's too late to stay out by yourself!" Shuichi asked in a concerned manner.
"I was just talking with Momota-kun here.. I apologize." Rantaro told Shuichi.
"Momota-kun?" Shuichi's gaze saddened.
"Amami-kun... Momota-kun's been gone for at least five months now..." Shuichi's voice softened as he spoke to Rantaro.
"... What..?" He looked to his side, where Kaito stood. Kaito's figure began fading away slowly.
"Cya, dude!" Kaito smiled before he faded away into the rain, and so did Rantaro's happiness.
