You and Kei had been dating since your sophomore year of high school. It was hard to break through that tough exterior wall that Tsukishima had built around himself, but once you finally did, it was totally worth it. He was the best boyfriend you could have asked for, which was surprising to everyone, including his friends. With his personality widely known as salty; Saltishima was anything but with you. Sure he'd have his moments, as most couples do, but never to the extent that his salt level was with his volleyball teammates.

You went to every game to support him and were so proud to see the improvement over the years. Your favorite moments were when he'd make the perfect block and you could see the absolute pride on his face. He was the tallest player on the team, which was one of the reasons he was so good as a blocker, and probably the tallest guy in your grade.

He definitely took advantage of that fact whenever another guy would give you the eyes in the hallway, or try to approach you when they thought he wasn't paying attention. Kei was a jealous boyfriend and used his height to intimidate those that would come near you. Looking down his nose at them with a 'beat it or I'll kill you' look. You couldn't blame the guys that would scurry away, Kei was terrifyingly tall when he wanted to be. Never towards you of course, but you could still understand.

Now, you and Kei were in college and shared a two-bedroom apartment together. Things were good for the most part. The school was nice, you had good professors and classmates that weren't disruptive. You had even joined the women's volleyball team as a libero. You were shocked that you made it on though. Kei had told you that you were good, but you just thought he was being nice. Though it wasn't like him to sugarcoat things to spare your feelings, so in hindsight maybe you should have listened, would have saved you a lot of stress.

Kei was a part of the division 2 league for Japan's Sendai Frogs and you were so proud of him for that, but between that and school it took up most of his time. Sure, you had school and practice too, but it wouldn't last as long as his and it wasn't every day. You began to miss him and you lived in the same apartment. Not only was he barely there, but when he was he was tired. He gave you short responses and then would be off to his room and close the door behind him.

You felt like your relationship was frozen, in a stalemate and you didn't know how to break it. You knew Tsukishima worked hard and liked his alone time, but you also didn't like being ignored or brushed off. So, you decided today was the day you would finally bring it up and say something about it. You were tired of feeling alone when you physically weren't. You were in the kitchen cooking some dinner for you and Kei when you heard voices outside your door and the handle start to turn. When you looked over to the door, it was Kentaro that came in first then Kanji and Kei behind him.

"Hey (y/n)." Kentaro nods then kicks off his shoes and jumps over the arm of the couch to sit on the seat and kicked up his feet on the coffee table.

"Yo (y/n)!" Kanji smiles and waves to you and follows Kentaro to walk around the couch and sit next to him. You gave them both smiles. You didn't know his teammates would be stopping by. You only made enough for three. It was always just you and Tsukishima then enough for your lunch the next day since he would always go out to eat.

"Hey, guys." Meanwhile, Kei was taking off his shoes and putting his keys on the hook. When you looked at him he was making his way around the kitchenette. Your heart skipped a beat because you thought maybe whatever funk he was in had subsided and he was going to give you a kiss in greeting since he hadn't even said hi to you yet. That's when he walked around you to open the fridge, grabbing three water bottles. When he closed the fridge you were staring at him.

"What?" There was no attitude, it was just a question. You shouldn't have been surprised. It was your fault for getting your hopes up. Now you were mad.
