"Yo!" A child, who clearly does not want to cause harm, walks up to you.
Your friendly greeting seems to have loosened their mood, as their facial expression turns positive.
The being seems quite happy to see a young, friendly face, and its grip loosens considerably.
In return, they give you some ancient coins.
These coins were once used in the ancient times of the old empire, and were said to have great value... but were all lost when the empire fell, and its people were driven into hiding. Only the Glitch keeps these artifacts now. Some would say they hold great power. Would you like to keep these coins?
"I-I don't get how I deserve these. It feels like I'm stealing them just for using the most normal average Gen Z greeting. What did I do? Please, do not let me keep these just for welcoming you." they say
The coins do feel wrong in your hands, almost like the world itself is rejecting them.
The Glitch is surprised by your gratitude; they assumed you would be so awed by the gift that you wouldn't even register the feeling of unease.
The ancient coins are not of this world. To accept them would mean a lifetime of nightmares and bad luck.
Do you accept these evil coins?
"I still don't get it. You could've given these to anyone but me. What happened, and why me?" They reject kindly.
The rejection confuses the creature; why would you not take the gift? It is worth a lot, and they don't have anyone else to give it to. Everyone else would have just taken it without a second thought. They try giving it to you again. They are very insistent.
Do you take the coins? (Yes/No)
"No, thank you." They attempt to say in a respectful manner
The Glitch frowns a little, but understands that some people just don't want gifts. They shrug, and put the coins back into their pocket. There must be someone else to give them to, somewhere in the world... right?
The Glitch has some errands to run, and disappears into the shadows. Maybe he'll give the coins to some other human.
You feel as if you have escaped certain death today, and for that you are very thankful.
"Bye bye!" They shout at the Glitch, most likely not going to receive an answer.
The Glitch turns to you, and gives you a smile!
They disappear into the shadows one again, and as they head out of view, their voice can be heard one more time.
"Thank you, child!"
It seems they did appreciate your kindness, even after they tried to give you the cursed coins.
"Byeeeeeee! Have luck with whatever you're doingg!!!" they shout
The Glitch disappears further into the shadows, and the world returns to its normal state. You can still feel a presence, lingering in the shadows, however... for some reason, you can't shake off the feeling that the Glitch just might be watching you... but they mean you no harm. They are simply doing their job, after all.
"That's weird.. Why do I feel someone's watching me.."
You can feel the eyes of the glitch all around and above you...
You try to turn your head around to look for the Glitch, but it is as if they're everywhere and nowhere at once...
The feeling of eyes watching you does not go away...
They just ignore the feeling.
As you turn to walk away, you spot the Glitch one last time... sitting in the shadows, watching you carefully. They wave to you as you leave, and the sensation of eyes watching you goes away.
They sigh with relief.
You have defeated The Glitch... for now. You walk away from the battle... and feel like you might just live another day.
