DAISY JONES AND THE SIX WAS THE MOST
successful rock band of the 1970s, of that there is no doubt. Its musicians came together to create ballads like none other, the kind that could be listened to anywhere — in the club, at the gym, even on the way to the grocery store. No matter where they were played, the ballads made the listener feel something: a most intimate connection to the lyrics. Said connection saw them not only rising to fame but earning the love and devotion of the American rock scene.

What goes up must come down, though, which was why, to the surprise of many, they infamously split during their 1979 tour in Chicago. Of course, people speculated about the origins of the split, but none were able to distinguish fact from fiction, truth from fable. They took what limited information they knew and tried to fill in the blanks, coming off with one elaborate story after the other, but they were just that: stories that had little basis in reality.

Their breakup happened over twenty years ago, though. Two decades have trickled by in which they have grown and learned from the mistakes of their youth, which is why, now, when given the opportunity to open up, Love Astor did not shut down, did not kindly tell the interviewers to make themselves scarce. It is time for the truth, her truth, to finally be told . . .
