3rd pov

The loud hums from Midgard confused those who dared pass through the East side of the forest.

There were some who feared it, there were others that enjoyed that harmony as it flowed through their ears.

But all who assumed its purpose, we're wrong..

Your pov

"Ugh, what a day.." I thought to myself.

Why was I complaining..? Everyday was practically the same..just like every other day, I was on my way to some high tree.

When I arrived, I climbed to the top. I got comfy, and started to hum my incantation.

I don't even know why I still try to find a Kærasti.(Viking word for boyfriend basically) I have been alive longer than 600 years trying to follow my father's orders, and be betrothed to a male. And I still haven't found someone to be attached to...

That's why I cheat a bit. I hum a certain incantation (spell) that is supposed to attract all life forms, which would explain why there are quite a few animals gathered around me.

I hear many calls of the animals, but still no Kærasti..I still have hope that in the last second, someone would come and swoop me up from my forever spot in a tree. That someone would finally, finally...love me.

As the years went by, I got insecure. Was I doing something wrong? Was I just not attractive? Or was it because I'm immortal? I just couldn't figure out why nobody in this lousy, cold, no-good forest would dare to take a step near me!

Oh look, A human.

A human? A HUMAN! Oh my gosh! I-I hope my hair isn't messy, my clothes are   barbaric for this kind of occasion!

Oh gods, he saw me! Just ignore, just ignore me! Wait...what am I saying? I've been searching for a Kærasti for 500+ years! I've gotta get to know him if I ever want to fulfil my father's orders.

Ok Y/n..this is your only chance! Don't. Screw. It. U-

"Hello?" I heard the boy say, and great heavens his voice is as soft as a song! "Um, hi.." I responded to his greeting.

"What are you doing in the middle of Midgard? It's quite dangerous around these parts!" He raised his voice to speak to me, which made me realize I was still in a tree.

I stuck my dagger in the bark of the tree and stood on it. I climbed lower, where I stuck a second dagger to stand on, eventually reaching a distance where I could jump down.

"Hello!" His voice boomed with excitement, which caused me to chuckle a bit. I've never seen a human before..my father is an Elf and my mother is a Sprite. They have some human features, but not many..

After he noticed I was staring at his face for a while, he looked confused, which led me to blush "Damn it Y/n, you're making him uncomfortable!!"

"Uh, my biggest apologies for the uncomforting staring! I-I just..have never seen another human before.." I had apologized to the boy, not wanting him to feel disrespected.

FLASHBACK

"If you want a husband..then I suggest you shut your God damn mouth!!" My father yelled. I put my arms in a X to try and block him from hitting me..

That didn't work..

I flew back on to the hard floor of our training arena "You are quite strong f-father.." I weakly spoke from the floor

"Hmph..what did I say about shutting your mouth you disobedient little..-"

"Would you shut up already, you not only bore me with your speaking, but you just make me want to kill you even more!" I heard my mother yell spitefully.

I heard a huff from my father as he stomped over to where my mother stood. Then all I could hear was a loud 'smack' and a 'thud'.

FLASHBACK OVER

"Are you alright? You were blanking out.." the boy asked, his voice lacing with concern.

I shake my head, and clear my thoughts. I look him in his gorgeous blue eyes and smile "I'm quite alright, just a bit astounded to see a boy!" I giggle.

"Well, you must be freezing! You can come back to my home and warm up a bit, get fed and be ready to get back to where you were going. Although, it didn't look like you were going anywhere.." he said

"I suppose I am a bit cold.." you lie "How far is your abode?" I ask

"Not far!" He held out his arm, which confused me. He then took my arm gently and tangled it with his arm, making me blush intensely. He started to walk a bit West.

"Do you..live with anyone?" I ask. He groans, "Just my dad and MírMir."

All you did was listen to him talk, for what felt like hours, but you never got bored. You never felt the need to just let go of his arm and turn the other way. Is this what those silly humans called..Love?

So..This Is Love..?
