Love Conquers All

Chapter 1

Mia's pov

I woke up early to get ready for college . This is my second year so I'm only twenty . I live in New York with my mom and my sister . My dad works for the army so I don't see him much . My sister is 16 so she is still in high school . I get up and start getting ready I put a nice black shirt and white pants . I search in my jewelry and find a gold necklace I put it on and find some black high heels . I walk out of my room to find my sister in her pajamas .

"Katie James ! Get yourself ready I have tot take you to school and I'm not getting late to my first class with Mrs. Grumpy !" She rolled her eyes at me and walked away to get ready . I walked down and saw my mom cooking us breakfast .

"Hey mom good morning "

"Hello sweetie " she smiled at me and turned back to cooking

I sat down while my mom served breakfast . I ate as fast as I could . Katie walked down the stairs and ate breakfast as fast as she could too . This day was going just fine . My mom was happy and I wasn't going to be late for school although I can't say Katie looks happy . I said goodbye to my mom and walked out of the house .

I opened the door to my BMW . I was able to afford this car because of my hard work as a waitress and a little help from my dad it's no big deal . I turned on the radio and the song Bad Blood by Taylor Swift was on . When the song ended I realized we were already in front of Katie's high school entrance . I waved to her and turned the car back on and drove to college .

I got there and walked straight to my first class . I took notes everyday but today was different . I zoned out most of the class . I practically zoned out in most of my classes until I heard someone shouting in fear .

"Everyone to the floor ! " at the beginning I didn't felt scared at all because I thought it was one of those stupid jokes people make . But that's when I heard gunshots . I immediately got under my desk . I started breathing heavily and some tears welled up in my eyes .

I close my eyes and try to think it is just a sick dream . When I open my eyes again I see people running out of the building . I run out after them and when I do I look out to see half of New York destroyed and on the sky I see a huge hole . I back away until I see see a huge weird looking thing just like an alien standing right behind me . I back away form it slowly but that thing comes closer . I'm so scared that everything around me basically disappears I concentrate hard on that thing . I look around and see buildings burning up on fire , cars exploiting and people running away from a certain distance . It feels as if my body was controlled over something when that weird looking thing comes closer to me .

That's when I raise my hands right in front of me as if I was going to stop it . I look away and I feel some burning in my hands . When I look back to see what is happening I see fire coming out of my hands . I practically scream like a dying woman . I feel so scared that I pass out falling directly in the cold hard street ground .
