It's been a while. Y'know, since that happened...

It's a little weird, I really did think it was going to be just a small thing. I didn't know how it would feel, or how much I'd miss it.

I thought I was going to get over it in a few hours, maybe a day or two depending on how it felt. But it's been a few months and my mind is still locked on you. You really did try hard to make me happy too, didn't you?

It feels strange. Never happened before... I lay down in bed every night and I just forget you aren't here. I look besides myself and hope you'll be there, but you only ever were once.

Just one night.

Oh, and I remember it vividly.

We were at a party, friends of friends who invited us there. You were dancing slightly awkwardly in the middle of everyone, and after watching you for a bit I went to introduce myself... That's how our conversation started.

But for every thing I said you had an answer. For every joke I told you had a comeback. And you made me laugh more times in one night than anyone ever did in a lifetime.

Then you offered me a dance. Were you just pretending to be bad before? You moved around with such majesty... Your smile was so genuine and so captivating. It was so easy to follow your steps. Nobody else came close to how well we danced that night.

I only felt slightly tired after we had finished the seventh song. And that was when we decided to stop. We talked for so long after that. You stopped drinking at a reasonable time, but I surely did not... and that might have been the reason for what happened next.

I flirted, you flirted back. I smiled, you smiled back. I came closer and you didn't even flinch. My hand came down the side of your head and my own just moved a little closer to seal the deal. But the moment we did that I realized it would last way longer than I first thought.

So long, might I add, that we kept at it even after we left the party.

It took just one invite.

Just one taxi.

Just one night.

And we were laying down together for the rest of it.

It lasted so long but time went by so fast. I remember every single detail of it.

Your hair, just like silk as my fingers ran through it.

The warmth of your body as we hugged each other close.

Your smile. So simple but so beautiful.

Your words. So kind but so sweet.

Your touch. So gentle but so calming...

We stayed together for so long after it. Did you really have to leave so early?

Just one night.

Couldn't you at least have told me where to find you?

Just one night.

Did you really have to vanish even though I called for you?

Just one night.

Couldn't it have been longer than...
