A great deal of time had passed before anyone crept back down into the dank basement. The room was hardly well insulated and had gotten chilly by nightfall. Enid and Kieran took to sleeping against each other for warmth and neither said anything more of the matter.
Eventually they were startled awake by the sound of the wooden chair scraping against the cellar floor. Their eyes blinked open only to land on a fellow unfamiliar to them.
It was a very beautiful woman with pale skin aglow in the moonlight. Her large ocean blue eyes blinked at them curiously and her healthy blonde hair trickled down her back.
"Oy, who the hell are you?"
The woman looked at Enid, shrugging slightly.
"I've been told you already know that."
"Ysvelta then? The healer?"
The woman nodded, keeping one leg folded across the other. Enid scrunched her nose and her companion could tell she was growing vexed.
"Well if you already know why we sought you, why chain us up?"
"How can I be sure that's why you've come here?"
Enid's face contorted to one of belligerent disbelief.
"Lass, are you mad?"
"Pardon?"
"You can see us, your eyes work properly?"
Ysvelta was very obviously offended, scoffing a bit, then gesturing to let Enid know that she was listening.
"This man has a bloody TAIL!"
Enid was practically screaming now. Ysvelta's eyes widened a bit. She shifted in the dark basement, leaning down and picking up the lantern and holding it out in front of her. Kieran bristled under her gaze but moved in such a way that she could see the tail clearly.
"Oh-"
"Oh, indeed."
Enid had calmed now, crossing her arms and settling back down against the wall.
"The lot of them failed to inform me of this. However did that happen?"
Ysvelta had turned to Kieran now, eyes brimming with sympathy. Kieran sucked in a breath of air and settled his head on one of his hands.
"We're from Drumwe Isles, Dillac region. The king sent us and a friend on some sort of special mission... Things went amiss, we've got rotten luck. Pixies, it was pixies."
The woman nodded, blond waves bouncing some .
"Pixies are foul little things."
Kieran shrugged and shifted again so that he was comfortable. A silence dragged on as the group of them had come to a sort of psychological impasse. Eventually it was disturbed.

"I'd like to help you both."
Kieran and Enid looked to each other, the faintest glimmer of hope evident on their faces.
"However, my ability works in a very particular way. It will take me a few moments and perhaps the display will make the two of you mildly uncomfortable."
Enid's brows furrowed with apprehension and Kieran's eyes lit with curiosity.
"We haven't very many other options anyhow, proceed."
Ysvelta shrugged at the sentiment and nodded. Kieran averted his eyes as the woman slipped her outer layer of clothing off, while Enid stared on blankly. It was not an immodest movement, being that the undergarments covered all but her arms and face, still the prospect of staring at a woman in undergarments was too much for Kieran.
The woman had grabbed a vial and beheld it between her hands before she went into a sort of daze, staring at a singular spot on the wall to Enid's left. She appeared to be deep in thought until tears began to slip down her cheeks. The flow was slow at first but picked up the longer she stared.
Suddenly she shook herself from the daze some and gathered the tears into her small vial. It was then Enid was able to confirm it: Ysvelta's tears had their own glow. It was a soft lilac sort of glow and hardly noticeable if you weren't paying attention.
She moved slightly closer to Kieran, with her arm extending the vial in his direction. Realising she meant for him to take it, he obliged and accepted the vial.
"This ought to do the trick."
"How does it work?"
Kieran was able to meet her eyes then, having glanced at the glowing purple fluid. Enid eyes the vial as well, eyes scanning it for some sort of trap.
"You apply the fluid to whatever ailment you have, in your event, the tail."
Kieran looked half squeamish at the bottle and half determined. He wasn't particularly fond of any bodily fluids but really, what choice did he have? So, the man took the vial, glancing at Ysvelta's face for a moment and then poured it across his lower half.
The glowing liquid was hot and tingled against the scales. He followed the instructions well enough, spreading it in such a way that it was as even as possible. His tail began to twitch involuntarily and they all watched closely, something was happening.

A cool, crisp nighttime air had coated everything about them as they trudged out of Uptowns and to the Southeast of Euridayl. Their shoulders slunk with a lack of hope and a silence which could move mountains sat between them.
There was nothing left to be said. Nothing left to be done.
Ysvelta had given them the name of one more wizard they could try before heading back to Drumwe. Figured it couldn't hurt them any to try. So they trudged in his direction with deflated hopes but a sureness in their stride.
Neither of them had anything left to lose.
