"Be quiet, you need to listen first. Everything can indicate a change or the presence of something else," I tell Quaritch.

We're both hunched over behind some big colorful flowers. I know the part of the forest we're in and the kind of animals that live here, but I won't tell him, he needs to find out.

"What do you want me to listen for? If an animal is coming I'm pretty sure I have to kill it," he replies and I shoot him an angry glare.

"And why would you have to do that?"

"They'll attack me if I don't, right?" he asks with a smirk.

"You could also just look at them and not provoke them," I reply.

He's about to say something else but I see the leaves moving, I put a finger to my lips to signal for him to shut up and he does.

I look around, they're above us.

"Now, what do you hear?" I whisper.

He closes his eyes and I see his ears twitching, one of the animals jumps from tree to tree making a sound.

"They're... above us?" he asks.

"Look up,"

He does as I say and tries to pinpoint them. I can already distinguish them.

When he does he prepares his weapon but I move it away.

"No!"

He looks at me weirdly.

"Can't you just look at something and not kill it? Is it so hard?" I ask and he looks a little offended for a moment.

"When they attack us you're gonna regret it," he says putting the gun down.

"They're not gonna attack us," I say and stand up to start climbing up the tree. I have to be careful or I'll scare them away.

"Now what are you doing?" he wonders.

"Catching up," I reply.

He shakes his head and starts climbing another tree, I warn him to be more silent and he rolls his eyes.

Once we're up and at the same level I call for him to come close.

"What the hell is that thing?" He asks making a face as he looks at the monkey like creature.

"They're prolemurs, they're friendly," I reply.

"That thing doesn't look friendly," he says and one of the prolemurs turns to look at him, he raises his gun.

"No!" I stop him.

"If it comes near me, I'll shoot," he says and I'm sure he's not kidding so I decide to climb down as I shake my head.

Once I'm down I start walking away.

"Where are you going?!" He shouts at me and runs to catch up.

"We're done," I declare and he huffs.

"We're done when I say we're done," he says cutting my way. I look up at him.

"If you just want to go out and shoot anything, you have your team of crazy soldiers to do that. Put me back in my cell and leave me alone," I say.

"I can't believe that two days ago you were barely speaking and now you dare to say all this to me," he says.

I cross my arms.

"Why do you even want me to teach you anything? You have Spider, you have an Ikran, you have your team, and all the bullshit that people from the sky have. Why the hell do you need me?" I ask.
