After that night, I started to realize that Michael and I were much closer than usual. Michael often gave me nice compliments, and I realized that he was often not joking.
It was July 5th, my birthday. I received all kinds of gifts from relatives and friends, in the end, the high school still knew me.
I didn't have who knows what party because I don't like "birthday parties" but my best friends, The Aftons and Michael's friends stayed.
I saw Michael when he came to me with a gift in his hand. He put the gift on the sofa and I approached. "Happy birthday, what can I say, Y/n, maybe you'll grow taller too". He laughed.
I wanted to say something, but something jumped out of the gift.
A cat jumped out of the box. It was the same breed that Michael often called me. A munchkin.

"Michael omg..." I admired the kitten but soon i launched over Michael and kissed him on the cheek while hugging him. "You're the best, for real, for real!!" i kept saying and sniffing in his chest.
Eventually the parents also came into the room and they all saw how I was over Michael and I kept hugging him and kissing him on the cheek. The parents, when they saw this, started laughing. "Michael, you finally have a girlfriend!" William shouted.
"Dad, it's not like that.." Michael said, blushing.
