Act 1 ; s-5

"Whatever happens, I'll face that myself, but I won't do this to her. She is an innocent girl." Mohini yelled at her sister in law standing up. As soon as she finished, she started coughing, keeping her hand on her chest.

Satakshi got scared and held her. "Attai, please sit. Don't stress yourself out." She said and looked towards her best friend's Aunt. "Why is she doing this?" her thoughts going into a frenzy.

"She is your daughter, right? Can't your daughter do this for us? For years we have taken care of her, we did everything-" before she could finish Mohini yelled at her again.

"Enough! Stop your nonsense or you'll see the worst of me." She said. Her chest started to ache now. Her face turned red, covered with sweat. Satakshi forced her to go to her room.

After she went, satakshi looked at Damini shocked.

"Aunty, what are you saying? How can this be possible?? I can't be the bride." Satakshi said with her trembling lips.

Why is it always her who has to go through the trouble all the time? Why is she facing unjustified karma all the time?

"You ungrateful girl. Shut up! I told you to stay away from this family. If you had listened to me then this would have never happened. Mr rai would have chosen my daughter only if you wouldn't have entered that damned room." Damini said in an angry tone.

Satakshi clutched the side of her dress, looking down. She didn't know what to do.

"This is the time you can repay our favour. I will talk to them. I will handle everything. And they are a rich family, we all know this. If I had another daughter then I would get her to marry without even asking her. Can't you do this?" She said to Satakshi, trying to manipulate her.

Few minutes ago Damini had came with a marriage proposal for satakshi. It wasn't any normal proposal,it also came with many responsibilities and sacrifice of freedom.

Garuda Rai. The younger son of  Suryavardhan Rai. Power and dominance screamed of him.

He and his father had come to Damini's house for her daughter's hand in marriage. Damini and her husband were rich enough for a valuable status. So her daughter would have been a great match for Garuda.

That day Mohini and satakshi were present there for helping Damini with the chores.everything was going well untill satakshi made a mistake of entering that room. Mohini had asked Satakshi to serve them tea and maybe that was a wrong move

Just as she entered the room, satakshi felt Garuda's eyes on her. It was uncomfortable but she couldn't complain. Just as she stepped back after settling the tray down, Suryavardhan asked her name.

Shocked but she still replied looking innocently into his eyes.

"Satakshi Shetty,sir." Her smooth voice echoed in their ears.

Damini nodded at her, dismissing her from the room. After that she didn't knew what happened until now Damini came with the news of her marriage with Garuda. Back to present.

"She will be happy there. Think about it," Damini said looking at Mohini. She kept talking, forcing Mohini to think about it. She looked towards Satakshi with guilt and hopeful eyes.

At that time Satakshi knew that this family had always done everything for her, nothing else mattered. Her Attai always supported her. If it was not for her Attai then she would have ended up on some street or orphanage.

They were her only family.

And you are supposed to do anything for your family, right?

"Satakshi, beta, I- " Her aunt hesitated. She knew she was being selfish. But she had no other option.

"I'll marry him," Satakshi said before She could say anything.

She knew she had chosen the hell upon herself. But she still tried to find good in that man. Who knows she might not have any freedom but still live a peaceful life in those caged walls.
