Harry tried to analyze his thought processes, but he couldn't. He had already looked at the letter from Draco several times, and he didn't like to admit that he had positive feelings for that piece of parchment. He even sniffed it to see if he could smell Draco's shampoo again like he did a few days ago during Side-Along-Apparition. Um, just disinfection, too bad.
He was also slowly getting used to Scorpius. He stopped seeing the fact that he was a Malfoy as a stigma. He's just a kid who needs him. He was proud that he could take care of him and that the boy accepted him and respected him. When he found out the reason, he was taken aback. Scorpius soon found out that his carer was really the Boy Who Lived.
"How did you figure that out?" Harry wanted to know.
"I looked at your forehead while you were sleeping. You really think I'm stupid, don't you."
"I am sorry. But don't expect any miracles from me. Your dad probably made up the fairy tales about me."
"Harry, you're exactly the way daddy says. Good and handsome."
Harry started to feel hot.
"Can I touch that scar?"
Harry nodded. It was strange to feel a child's hand in this very place. Scorpius's palm was warm, but the touch felt pleasantly cool. A former Death Eater's child touches his scar, and it doesn't hurt at all. At that moment, Draco's patron appeared in the room and checked on both Scorpius and Harry, even letting Harry pet him. It seemed he was looking at him lovingly this time.
He desperately needed a new message from Draco. The only way to get another parchment was to write to him first.
Hi Draco!
Thank you for your message. I hope you are doing better. Scorpius is fine, but he misses you so much. He found out who I was. Get well soon. Harry
He received an answer the same evening.
Dear Harry! I am much better and look forward to seeing you both soon. But it will take a few more days. I miss Scorpius, and I have to admit that I often think about you too. I'm sorry for burdening you with so much responsibility, but I don't know anyone else I can trust. Thank you. You are a hero to Scorpius and to me (putting up with Scorpius is a truly heroic feat sometimes).
I kiss you both, Draco
Harry was surprised by the tone of the letter, but pleasantly so. It was surprising, but his relationship with Malfoy was beginning to change. Suddenly he didn't want the Malfoys out of his life anymore. In those few days, they were starting to belong to him more than he was willing to admit. He wanted to take care of them, he wanted to be their hero if they wanted it that way.
At work, he asked for the opportunity to be Draco and Scorpius' bodyguard and was granted. This will allow him to continue working on the case, even if only as an external specialist, and at the same time, he will have a reason to stay close to his new friends.
Hi Draco,
I asked for the possibility of becoming your bodyguard if you allow me. You would be safer, and Scorpius would be happy. Harry
Harry sent the message and anxiously awaited a reply. What if Draco didn't accept his offer? He needed someone to take care of his child, but would he want to share a household with him? Even if he accepts the proposal, how will they get along? Throughout their studies at Hogwarts, they hated each other. Harry didn't understand why he was doing this. Because of Scorpius?
The letter from Malfoy came immediately. Harry opened the parchment with trembling fingers and read.
Dear Harry,
I'm glad you'll stay close to me and have the opportunity to get to know me from a different side than during my studies. See you soon.
With love Draco
Did Draco really write with love?
