The Necklace // A Tara & Darcy Heartstopper Oneshot

The Necklace

I need to give this to Tara before she.. well I get drunk at the party tonight. Its Tara's birthday and we're having all the kids who came on the Paris trip over in our room for a party.

Sahar and Elle went to get some more snacks from the supermarket down the street so I finally have a moment alone with her since the beginning of this trip. Tara is doing her makeup in the desk we have in our room and a little mirror she brought.

I take a chair and sit next to her "Hey girlie" I say and I give her a peck on the cheek trying to hide my nervousness.

She stops mid-eyeliner and says "'hey girlie'? really? Is that a things now?" she lightly laughs. I chuckle self-consciously and then say "yep. I'm trying it out" "sounds great" she kisses me and goes back to doing her eyeliner. I love when she does eyeliner, I wish she would wear it more often.

I hesitate a bit before putting the small white paper bag I was holding on the desk "happy birthday" she looks at me with a slightly shocked look on her face and hugs me. The eyeliner wand still in her hand

"Darcy! Oh My God thank you so much!". She opens the bag and takes out a card and a small blue box. She looks at the card and I can see her starting to tear up. The card is a premade one. It says "HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE" in pink glitter with a bunch of stars and hearts around it. She then opens the card and then reads it out loud with tears in her eyes

"To my Tara. I love you. I wish you only the best in the world. You saved me and made me feel a kind of love I never thought I could feel"

she sniffles and wipes tears from her cheeks

"I'm so in love that I might stop breathing' Paris...Taylor Swift" she hugs me.

"you are going to pay for ruing my makeup! I just did it"

"you haven't even opened the actual gift yet. I got it a couple of days ago when we went shopping"

she opened the box to reveal a pink heart necklace. On one side it has the Eiffel tower and the other is the letter D. she wipes more tears with her sleeve "D as in Darcy?" she sniffles.

I smile and say "yeah. I have a light blue one with a T on it, see?" I take out my necklace that I hid under my hoodie. She hugs me "I love you. I love you so so much!" she then kisses my lips, both my cheeks and my neck"

When we stop our little make out session she turns around and lifts her hair so I can put the necklace around her neck. I also sneak in a little kiss on the back of her neck. She laughs "OMG Darcy. Well now, because you made me ruin my makeup and I have to redo it, your payment is to let me do your makeup" she crosses her arms looking proud. I scoff "that's my payment? Tara you're going easy on me! I wear makeup." She leans forward " I mean more than just mascara Darcy" we both laugh and she starts to fix her makeup.
