Long, long Ago, two races ruled over Earth: Humans and Monsters. One day, war broke out between the two races. After a long battle the humans were victorious. They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell. As time passed, the monsters grew angry. They became mean and rude. They slowly were turning into true monsters. BUT. Many years later, a human child ran into a cave on Mt.Ebott, despite knowing that legends saying that those who climb the mountain never return. They couldn't see and tripped on a root, falling into a hole leading into where the monsters reside. Miraculously, this child befriended the monsters with kindness. Something they had long forgotten. This child was very special, for they were one of the most powerful magic users of all. It was all thanks to their soul. Through their sheer determination they broke the magic barrier and freed the monsters from their prison. And the human left. Even though this was what the monsters had sought after for so long, the monsters didn't leave immediately. They had been trapped for so long, and were so used to their lives inside the mountain, they didn't know what to do. Eventually, some gathered up the courage to leave and explore. They gathered a small group of monsters and set off down the mountain.

They had reached a human town just outside the forest at the bottom of the mountain. While the monsters spent their time trying to leave the mountain, the humans had built and grown, advancing in technology and education. It had been centuries since humans and monsters had interacted with each other. The humans soon forgot that monsters even once existed, they were mere fairytales to scare children into behaving. The minute the monsters were noticed all hell broke loose. People screamed and ran for their lives, others hide. The monsters just stood there confused. Suddenly, the guards were there. They attacked the monsters, captured them and put them in cages. Of course, some of them fought back, but human technology overpowered their magic. The humans didn't know what to do with the monsters at first, they just kept them locked up for fear of what they might do if they were free.

Back in Mt.Ebott, the exploration party had been missing for quite a few days, so they sent out search parties one after another. To no avail, no one ever came back, except for one. A small monster had managed to slip away due to its size. When he came scrambling back to the exit of the underground everyone crowded around him asking what happened. He explained between breaths that the humans have been capturing everyone. This frightened the monsters that were left. They stayed in their mountain, fearing what would happen if they were caught by the humans.

Now that the humans knew about the monsters and that there were so many of them turned them into slaves. Woshuas were used for cleaning. Tsunderplanes were used for mail and carrying things to places. Others were used as pets. They were treated like animals, and if they revolted they were beaten or killed. There was now a high paying job in capturing or selling monsters, and breeders. Boss monsters were the most valued, as they were the strongest and very rare.

This went on for a long time. Those who ventured out of the mountain too far or long were captured, and though new monsters were born, the numbers still in the mountain started to dwindle. Only enough for a small village. What's worse was with there being less monsters, less resources were being made. The rations that they had were running out, and people had to make more trips out the mountain to bring back food and resources, thus Lessening the amount of monsters further.

One day Sans ventures out to collect food...
