My First Love

Izumi was my first real love.

I woke up that morning, reluctantly slinging myself out of bed with a wide stretch of the arms. That whole day was like some weird vivid dream. I threw on my school uniform and ran downstairs with my oddly blue backpack which clashed heavily with my school uniform.

"Goodbye Shoyo, honey," Mom smiled as I ran towards the door. Natsu ran towards me, wrapping her tiny arms around the lower part of my torso.

"Don't forget your volleyball bag Nii-chan!" Said the younger female handing me my large duffle bag.

"Awe, thank you Natsu," I smiled at her and rubbed her head, messing up her hair. I open the door and head outside, the cold air hitting my face harshly. I smile seeing my best friend, Izumi, waiting for me outside. I flipped my septum piercing out of my nose and smiled at him.

"Still haven't told your mom about that, have you?" He rolled his eyes while laughing.

"Nope, and I do not plan on it," I looked forward to the road. "Wanna race? I need to warm up before our fake volleyball team has fake volleyball practice."

"The team's not fake, we play.. We just suck." Muttered Izumi.

"Whatever!" I shouted as I took off towards Yukigaoka.

"No fair!" Izumi yelled as he almost caught up with me. "You got a head start! That's cheating!" He said through huffs.

"Not my fault you're out of shape, Yuki," I taunted. He pulled me back by the hood of my jacket and came to a stop, bringing me face to face with him.

"I'm not out of shape, Sho. I just skip leg day a lot," He smiled at me. I felt my cheeks heat up. Was it from bloodflow or the sudden stop of wind?

"Judging from practice you also skip arm, chest, shoulder, and ab days."

"Wanna test that?" He questioned.

"W-what do you mean..?" I stuttered a bit. He turned around and bent down.

"Hop on," He laughed a bit. I did so and he picked me up gently. He started to run with me on his back.

We ran like that all the way to Yukigaoka, where Sekimukai met us by the gate.

"And remind me again," Koji said as I got off Yukitaka's back. "Why aren't you two dating?" I felt my face heat up and Yuki just shrugged.

"Let's get to practice," I announced.

"Way to change the subject Hinata," Koji uttered. We walked off to practice where I ran off to change.

Half way through our practice I got a text from my mom during a water break.

Come Home. Right after your practice, come home. Izumi looked over my shoulder at my phone.

"Dang, what's wrong with your mom Sho?" He asked. I turned my head towards him.

"I don't know," I turned towards him. My face heated up from how close we were.

"Ughhhh, just date!" Koji groaned. With that the bell rang and I gathered my stuff.

"I'm straight," uttered Yuki and I felt my heart shatter. I tried to not act sad and just keep a smile.

"I'm going now."

"I'm coming with you, Sho," Yuki smiled.

We walked to my home in comfortable silence, Yuki hugging me goodbye at my porch.

"When did you and Zumi-chan get so close?" She smiled and wiggled her eyebrows.

"Izumi is just my very close friend, Natsu."
