In the cafeteria, Cory, Shawn, Ellis, and I are sitting at a table eating lunch.

"Say you could pick any superhero to be your dad. Who would you choose?" Cory asks.

"The hulk, for sure. He's strong, he can easily lift things up." I say right away. "He can also kill the spiders that come in my room in one punch."

"Batman, no question. Live in a cool cave, borrow the Batmobile." Ellis says right after me.

"He lets Robin hang out with him and play with all his stuff?" Shawn says.

"How do you get to be a ward?"

"Batman? Is he faster than a speeding bullet? I don't think so." Cory says. "Is he more powerful than a locomotive? Uh-uh. I'd want Superman."

"Sees through walls. You'd never get away with anything." I say to Cory

"Because I'd make somebody a very cool ward." Says Ellis.

"I'd like to have Superman for a dad." Cory says, still not changing his mind.

Shawn looks at Minkus, "Hey, there's Minkus." He says as he pulls out a squirt gun from under the table and shoots him in the back of the head.

I can't help but laugh at Shawn's action.

"Ow." Minkus says, ignoring shawn.

"Whoa!" Cory says while looking at Shawn's squirt gun.

"Careful. If Feeny sees this baby on school grounds, he'll shag it, and I'll have to sit out the water war."

Ellis reaches under the table and pulls out a squirt gun, "Lady and gentlemen, meet the Hydro-Sat 3000-Z. Blow your head clean off."

"The 3000!?" Cory exclaims.

"That's not even supposed to come out 'til Christmas!" I exclaim, just as excited as Cory.

"I know a guy." the boy says as he shoots Minkus in the head.

"You really shouldn't do that." Minkus said, putting his book down and standing up.

"What? are you going to melt?" I quip.

"No." Minkus says as he lifts a huge case onto his table and opens it, he takes out a squirt gun.

"I'm going to retaliate." Minkus continues.

Ellis holds up his squirt gun, ready to shoot.

Minkus holds up his squirt gun threateningly and says very seriously, "Go ahead, make me wet."

Ellis puts down his squirt gun

"Wise choice."

"Ah, who needs one of those?" Cory says as he stands up and walks towards the water fountain holding a water balloon.
